best news in a long time. terms?
While Knicks owner James Dolan will pay Jackson handsomely to make basketball decisions, Dolan is still expected to maintain a voice in terms of decision-making, the source said. Bringing Jackson aboard could move the Knicks away from their ties to Creative Artists Agency, the player- and coach-representation firm that many league insiders, including some Knicks players, believe has an inordinate amount of influence within the franchise. - ESPN
I don't see anything on any of their websites. Premature at this pt

When Dolan still wants to make decisions, then that tells me Isiah Thomas will continue to be in his ear, because he himself doesn't know basketball at all.

Not excited about this at all. I just can't see P.Jackson attending College games or traveling overseas to scout potential prospects.
at least we'll have someone who is smart enough to ask the coach wtf he is doing
Everybody in the League knows the knicks are worth 1.4 billion dollars.
People know they work for Dolan and pimp him for $Dollars

As opposed to a grueling 82 game NBA schedule, piece of cake...

Eh, hiking in the mountains all day while you earn a few mil a year in interest alone from your lifetime earnings sounds nicer to me. But I guess this is what he wants to do. I wonder if he's just out of cash.

This is overrated. Most GM's have staff that they trust go and see players and the GM only has to see the players a few times in person. We will never be a team that relies mostly on picks to build. There's much more to team building than scouting college players.

Whats the point of traveling back and forth across the country to see players in person when he can just sit in the cozy confines of his house in Montana and follow the advance stats data online and put together a team that way. I mean, advance stats are better than watching a player with your own eye-balls

oh come on. It certainly helps to see for ones own eyes but you can't belittle advanced stats. If teams relied more on the these stats then their egotistical eyes then they'd probably be in better shape.

My guess is if we are lucky we will get a Riley situation where once the roster is in place he will coach if there is the possibility of winning a championship - unless we have someone in there he knows can get it done.
