With Millsap back and 13/20@home my guess is Atlanta with something to play for go 11-9 to finish. I think that is a fair projection. That would necessitate the Knicks doing 14-3. If the Knicks go 17-3 to end the season. They deserve to make the playoffs no matter end record
you could look at the 4 wins and said the competition was bad, but all 4 teams have wins agaisnt us this season, min was blowing us out by 30 although the final score doesn't indicate how much of a blow out that game was.
atlant has lost 15 of 16 games and blew a 16 pt 2nd half lead only to escape with a 2 point lead..
Other then the lakers we have lost to every team we have left on the schedule, so when ppl start talking about the competiton being below .500 keep in mind that we are 15 games under 500, opposing teams look their schedule and pencil in a W (should win)

If feels like Atlanta have hardly played this week! We need them to start racking up the loses. They only just beat the Bucks, and they only just won the game before that- it's annoying, but I hope it means they are ready to plummet again when they face good teams.
Man, I wish we'd never got ourselves in this situation...
Atlanta held on again against Denver

They have won three straight.
being 5 games back, really 6 games back, in the loss column with 15 games left is not a hurdle that will be overcome.
i see 5-10 for them, ideally 10-5. 10-5 puts them exactly where the schoene prediction model put them. maybe they end up going 7-8 which puts them at 34-48
even if the knick go 10-5 atlanta can go 7-10 and still get the 8th seed.

how accurate was the schone prediction model for the knicks last year troll?
The Knicks finished the season going 16-2 last year and 18-6 the previous year. Hopefully they have a run like last year. 6-0 from this team wasn't expected the way they had played prior to this run.
it doesn't bother me that Atlanta is winning. i like that the knicks are really going to have to earn that last playoff spot. This way getting in won't be so meaningless, and they'll be playing the kind of ball where they won't get totally embarrassed by the top seed.

I'll help you guys out. Schoene predicted 45 wins for the knicks in 2012-13.

Troll = Realistic post with not much hope.
You have to be careful now, lots of people have hope to make the playoffs. I hope we make it but only so we are not giving up a lotto pick (Dolan is a moron still.) We are not able to do much once there unless we use all that we have, and coach (I really feel that is an unjust title) doesn't know how to use the bench.
Dolan thinks the fans will forgive and forget him, but they won't. And if Phil doesn't perform, Dolan really has problems. Oh, but I have hope.

We've played more games than them- that makes their lead over us look slightly bigger than it is. It's still a long shot though. Atlanta may stat to play tougher opponents soon, but the killer is our last 7 games- all against playoff teams, most of whom will be vying for seeding so won't be resting players at that point.
I've looked at the Hawk's schedule and optimistically have them finishing the year with 35 wins. We've just got to win 9. And there are some tough games. The way we were playing earlier in the year, they are games we don't win.
The crux of the play off chase is simple: keep playing well and hope the Hawks fold. They almost did to Denver being up big early.
I suspect it's a long shot. Less ping pong balls, though with our luck, this will be the first time a seed in the lotto as low as us wins the top pick.

Denver had incentive to lose to the Hawks planned losing. Keep the Knicks in Lottery.
It's just time for a change in the playoff seeding format.
What other sports have this, where a team that wins something like 40% of its games makes the playoffs?

Maybe we should start accepting that last year was just an outlier. If I make no mistake, a lot of our players had a far above average career % year in 3pt shooting, which our playstyle relied a lot on.
And this troll name calling is starting to be out of control.
This forum used to be a place where posters respected others, even when they disagreed.
Martin, Andrew, are you fine with posters blatantly calling others ''troll''?
Look, some people don't like Melo a lot, I'm in that group. I don't hate the guy, I just think paying him too with his mileage is asking for a new amare, houston etc. And also I don't like players who take time off on D.
Coming back to you, I don't call you troll because you say otherwise, so don't act like this because you're on the web.
Diverse opinions is what a forum is made of and is made for. If you only want to talk to people agreeing with you, why not starting your own website?
