Knicks · About time! Fans against Dumblan! (page 1)

JamesLin @ 3/13/2014 6:49 PM
I know I haven't posted in a while. Mainly taking care of my mom with dementia by moving to this lame island/country called Taiwan. So I wanted to stay positive and not watch any Knicks news, but hell, I gotta post this (if someone posted this already, please forgive me)...

IT'S ABOUT F-R-R-R-REAKING TIME!!! I might even spend money flying to NYC if this is legit, as we know, Daily isn't always...

Your opinion? Flame? Shoot away.. :)

Hey dude, sorry to hear about your moms. I had friends go to Taiwan, it seemed like a cool place to me, we're you in NYC before? Anyway, it's funny that the Phil Jackson stuff comes around after this fan protest was announced. We had a thread about it before, one of the organizers were on Stephen A Smith's radio show, and sounded a bit too vague/unprepared to my ears but maybe that was stage fright. I agree with it in principle but would probably not protest myself when there are so many more important issues in the world. But there are worst reasons to fly to NYC I reckon ;)

Dolan got Jax just in time!!!!

He knows how to work a crowd!

DrAlphaeus @ 3/14/2014 11:50 AM
The other thing: what exactly would be a good demand from something like this? Remember this in the Isiah years?

Now that was a protest: seemed well organized, great photo op visual, explicit demand.

What exactly is this group demanding? If ownership is the problem, what are they expecting can be done about it?

I have a feeling that the hiring of PJax has something to do with the declining ratings for MSG Network. Its a business after all and declining ratings hurts the bottom line.

Not sure how bad ratings are but if winning matters then its about time!

Have nets eaten into ratings? I have not seen anyting about YES and how they are doing with Net Broadcasts but on the court they are hot. I sat down and watched the gave vs. heat the other nite. Was a hell of a game! Livingston and Teletovic were stars in that game on defense! Livingston stole the ball on the last play. Joe Johnson and Deron played great defense as they suffered on offense!

They are 3-0 vs Miami this year.

I don't have league pass but im not watching Knicks-Boston over that game! BTW, its not a "NET" thing with me, its a hot team taking on Lebron and friends. Besides, Listening to Hubie brown do a game is wonderful!!! Not much hype and lots of breakdown of whats going on.

It's alright, although I strongly, strongly recommend people not try to take care of their relatives with dementia if they can (get professionals to do this). It's way too difficult, taxing and personal. I lost about 30 lbs from stress. I haven't been in NYC in about 10 years, but I was born in Harlem and became a Knicks fan since 4 years old. Yeah, it was funny that PJax came around afterwards and I do believe it's to appease the fans as we know Dolan never intended to have PJax for some reason. PJax even responded later in public that Knicks was never on his radar when he was interested in coaching after the Bulls. I would consider flying there just on principle because I despise Dolan for making us fans suffer all these years and still. I do agree there are much more important things in the world but the pain man, the pain....

Well, props to you for taking care of your mom, that's a heavy task and for what it's worth, I respect what you are doing and give you mad props. I know it's hard to take care of yourself when you are taking care of someone else like that, so just hope I fling a little positive energy your way.

That's part of why we like sports, right? It can be a pretty fun distraction/hobby that gets us through the tough times. Too bad our team hasn't been great at lifting our spirits lately! So I hope a new era is around the corner to reward long time Knicks fans like yourself with some long overdue joy!

Thanks man, that means a lot to me, really. Our team has been the joke, but I believe! I really believe that one day, Jimmy Dol will sell the team to an actual owner with a little more brain cells

My mom had schizophrenia, and I believe it was due to B12 deficiency which is common amongst Asians. Another common thing among Asians is Selenium deficiency. I've had both, have your mom checked out if she hasn't already.

Oh wow, that's information I've never heard of before. Thanks man. I'll look into it and ask my mom's doctor and see if they can test if she has those deficiencies. Yeah, my mom started having dementia way too early compared to average standard (started when she was 66).

knicks1248 @ 3/17/2014 2:38 PM
This demonstration may be a bit premature considering the recent current events, a new regime and 6 game winning streak
jrodmc @ 3/18/2014 10:34 AM
They've already changes the posters! "Let Phil Do His Job!"
Should be funny, trying to make three people look like an angry, thoughtful, forceful mob.

Then again, that seems to work in here...

DrAlphaeus @ 3/18/2014 3:58 PM
Dolan is on for a half hour at 4pm with Michael Kay on 98.7 EPSN Radio…
