However this thing turns out, the alternative was years of Dolan as GM with lackey Steve Mills- a prospect that filled me with doom. At least today I have hope- this is our only shot at reducing Dolans meddling, I hope it works out.

He originally wanted $10mil, but then Dolan took over the negotiations personally

There was also speculation, I want to say from Berman, that he wanted part ownership of the team. I wonder if he maybe took less money than originally reported in return for part ownership?

This is the best day for this franchise since i've been a fan which started right at the end of the last title team in 73. Anyone who's been on this long title draught all these years knows the deep longing for a title that I do and I think this is the best chance we've had since the Riley Era. They have a CLEAR and CAPABLE leader at the top. I had ZERO faith in Mills and I think Phil has more clout than Walsh. We have only 1 more season before the cap clogging contracts are gone, a 2015 1st rd pick and we actually do have some young talent contrary to popular belief. The timing is PERFECT!!!

Guns u really are such a negative fan. Every post is negative. This is such a great day in Knick history. Its not about Dolan , its about Phil coming back to the Knicks. One of the greatest minds in basketball history is coming home to hopefully build this team back. He doesn't want to coach at this time in his life but he wants to build a franchise. Maybe it doesn't work out , but at this point who could ask for anything better??? I have complete confidence in Phil. If you know basketball that is all you need to know. Phil knows basketball and what it takes to win. This really is one of the greatest days in Knick history!!!
