How would he do in this offense and what other players on this roster would work with this?
also, how can you not be pumped up by this press conference?
Either don't run the triangle or have another group of players run it. It requires intelligent basketball players.
It's about spending the time on fundamentals and drilling the ball and player movement until they can do it in their sleep! Some coaches aren't committed to teaching. Phil will insist his coaches teach the Team game and correct technical flaws. The Triangle is taught to kids! Almost anyone can learn it and if they can't you know they need to go. That's how you weed out losing players.
i think it would require more movement off the ball on his part no?

Bingo. Players that can't play in it get exposed. So you will find out fairly quickly who needs to go from the jump.
I just wanna add that the triangle is not really meant a system that hinders Melo. If anything it will make the game so much easier for him. When he gets the ball he will have plenty of options and his teammates will always have a job to do and a specific role they need to be filing. Melo will in turn destroy everything in front of him. Whether if they set up high post or low post or have him facing up in a two man game.....I stress the fact that his teammates will be filling roles and as long as they buy in and run the offense, they will be involved enough to allow Melo to take over without isolating him and making him go 1 on 5.
Phil understands this I truly believe that. If it's the triangle or not, whatever we do we're going to be running some type of offense next year and that makes me happy as all hell.

YUP! The system is mainly for the other players and not the stars. Instead of the rest of the team clumsily moving around and bumping into each other or standing and watching, they'll have very specific roles and moves to make that will lead to easier scoring.
