evin Ebanks has been suspended five games for violating the anti-drug program, the NBA D-League announced on Thursday. The D-League didnt provide any details. The Springfield Armor forward is averaging 23.3 points per game in the D-League and is viewed as one of the top three NBA prospects in the league. The Armor traded for Ebanks last month.

Willing to bet this turns out to be nothing but weed. Even if it turns out to be a more serious drug issue, dude deserves a second chance. He didn't kill anyone, right? Much worse things he could be caught up in... He's worked very hard in the DL to improve as a player. I've seen this guy play many games this year and IMHO he's the real deal. This dude's a bonafide scorer and definitely a rotation player in the NBA. I liken him to Earl Clark -- a hybrid 3/4 about the same height and build as Clark with similar skills, only Ebanks is smoother with an even more effective, more versatile offensive game. I like Clark but feel this guy's an even better player.. Definitely a guy we need to be in on for next year. When Phil Jackson said we "need to shake the bushes" in our search for talent, that was music to my ears. I agree---how can you not when you're a team that's over the cap with no draft picks? This is one of the first guys I thought of when I heard Phil say that.
