I probably would be against acquiring him if we weren't headed to some variation of the triangle - however - he would such an excellent acquisition for how Phil likes to play. And that is such an obvious thing to say I can't believe I have to say it here

Its not his FG% that is 44% but his eFG% which takes into account Free throws and 3 pointers. His FG% this year is 43%.
TS includes FT's but eFG is 2's and 3's.
TS is the better number to look at.
It's like saying Jeremy Lin is a net negative player because he doesn't shoot 40% from 3. You guys are nose-diving too far into the numbers and not taking impact into account

You don't have to shoot 40% from three but should shoot near 35% if you don't you better live at the FT line & shoot a high percent, play good d, rack up assists, and rebound.

Jeremy Lins TS is 57.5 which is highly efficient.
I am not sure what you mean by "impact"
A guard who shoots 22% from 3 is by default a net negative. He would have to average 11 assists per or 11 rebounds per or be the best defender in the league to overcome that.

I hate obtaining players at any price hoping they "become" better. That has not worked out for us in the past.

Even his last year in Denver he was okay and one would think that one very bad season was just a blimp. I don't know what he did in China but I think all that chucking wrecked his game and shot. His 3pt shooting has finally come back this year, so there's that.
Personally, I think he is being used wrong and needs to be on the move and not creating up top but only on the wings coming off screens. His role should be like the redicks, korvers, and Dunleavys of the bball world. I would like to see him in the post more. He has looked very effective(eye test) in the post in Denver and NY the little times he gets it there. I think he has a bad work habit in the offseason and doesn't train to improve the things he needs too. He works out to improve his step back but not the little things like his FT shooting, pnr game, and etc. If I am Phil I set rules for Jr over the summer and get him on a program designed to improve his game and play him in a reduced role.

Shumpert has been an inefficient offensive player since college. I don't see it improving. He is a really good defender but can that mask his inefficiency so that he can be a long term positive sum player? I don't think so but I am curious to see what Phil thinks.

Lowry's TS is at 55 for his career. Pretty solid. And to top it off, he plays really good defense and plays smart basketball. He is who I go after. How the hell did we not trade for this guy?
Sacramento maybe toxic but Evans' numbers are still extremely inefficient since he left.
I don't buy that. There is no way in hell that Jax brings this guy in.

That is my main problem with Woody. He is an enabler of awful shot selection. I don't understand how he allows JR to take some of these shots, it boggles my mind.
JR has supreme talent and I think that jax keeps him and does some zen sh1t with his head. He is capable of so much yet we allow him to be a bonehead. He is my sleeper next year.

Toronto last year and some of his Houston teams were bad.
I wouldn't even go after D.J. Augustin even after the months he has had played with the Bulls and he has been way better than Evans.
