I am sure that they can.
not pay him or fine him maybe... but void the last 2 years? Players union should be tough on that.

A few NBA players have done jail time but didn't get their contracts voided- I remember Marbury when he was with the Suns (DWI).
I don't think Felton will get jail time.
I remember reading a BBall writer saying something like: " How bad are things for the Knicks? Knick fans have been hoping that if Felton gets jail time, they can they get out of his contract- things are that dark!" Ha! sad, but true!
Thank sweet baby Jeebus no one was ridin with Ray - we would've gotten charged too

hes in bad shape... unless he gets out of it all together he's looking at more time than Plax
I don't see how he gets out of carrying a gun in New York City when he is not a cop, federal agent or armored security
You can't even obtain a license in the state
The reports of him threatening her with the gun might be bogus but he will do mandatory time. Pal icon got 2 1/2 years for shooting himself. That's worse because he brought the gun to a public place

Because his wife/ wife's lawyer made the boneheaded decision to take the gun to the police rather than have the police come to the apartment and get it. Now there is no proof Felton even had it in his home, let alone carried it around NY.
Good point. That might be his alibi

Exactly what I thought. Even if his fingerprints are on it, you have to prove it was from NY. How are they going to prove Felton had the gun in NY?
They are going to need eye witness testimony and more. I'm not defending the guy, just looking at it from a legal standpoint.
It will be interesting to see what the evidence is. I'm sure Felton new of the gun laws in NY. Would you really take a chance on them?

Oh wow that is a really good point. All Felton has to say is that she could have gone down to South Carolina to pick it up and bring it back up.
I thought he just had the gun in their home.
I don't think he does any time, and I certainly wouldn't wish it on him, no matter how many bad games he's had.
I have a feeling he'll be our backup PG next year.
