Knicks · OT: If Adam Silver put Ads on NBA uni's, I'm done... (page 1)
Dolan just put a billion dollars of his own money into the Garden, there is plenty of money in the NBA...

Why do you even care? Personally, I think that professional sports is a leech on society (tax payer money sponsoring private profit) and that it should be socialized to instead benefit the community they operate in. Still, I don't get why ads on jerseys would be the breaking point for you.

Why do I care???...Is this a real question??..Do u have any clue of what sports and the add on's is costing everything around you???..Do you know what ESPN and MSG for that matter means to your capable bill??
I think it would be wack, but I'd probably just get used to it. English Premier League is the precedent. Knicks already slap the Chase name and logo on everything else.

When I went to the UK, I couldn't bring myself to buy the club uni's for my kids..I bought the England's World Cup uni's which of course doesn't have ads..

This is going to be a prime example of the pot calling the kettle black but why are you so goddamn pissy? Answer my question, so that maybe I could understand your point of view. I don't see how ad's on jerseys will lead to the destruction of America.

Destruction of America??..what part of the body of what I wrote u don't understand?
It's more fun with sponsored jerseys now we have better heroes

I know what you mean. You'd think they would sell gear that just featured the club shield for the traditionalists. I won't say I'm all Naomi Klein No Logo in my life — in my closet I have a Polo logo here, a Adidas logo there — but I hate feeling like a billboard for something I don't necessarily want to promote. I agree, it just seems so greedy, because it's not like it's a Little League team sponsored by a the local pizzeria, they get millions of dollars in tax breaks.
Hey, sometimes it's a good match:
West Ham & Doc Martens
Brighton & Skint Records (Brighton Sound music label)
But all roads lead to the eventual financial company sell-out:

In layman's terms, I understand it's a business and my attachment to the game is of pure love for the sport...If you are going to remind me constantly that it's a business and you are milking it for as much money as you can then I won't support your effort doing so..

The "destruction of America" was hyperbole. The point is that I don't get how ads on jerseys lead to higher county taxes.

Again, I'm not the type that presumes that corporatist culture is something sacred. I already said that I thought professional sports should be socialized, which should've been a clue. Even so, I don't think that ads on jerseys are such a sinister thing especially when you juxtapose it to the NFL and NHL holding nonprofit status, public money going toward building stadiums, etc.

Dude, that's the case for any sporting event. That's why you eat before you go or you smuggle shit in like any normal cheapskate.

No it's shouldn't be socialized..Just don't use public money for stadiums, etc..

I think you are missing the general point...It's not about the individual act as not buying food at the stadium per se, but when is enough, enough..So we are just going along to get along..Is there no point where u make a stand??
