The guy is a sure-fire ticket to a top 5 lottery pick in next year's draft. Besides, I wouldn't want our new coach to start next season, without Melo, and no real hope of making the playoffs. Better to bring him in when we actually have personnel that are worth a damn.
You don't hire Phil if you are keeping Woodson. I hope the Knicks find a coach that works well in tandem with Phil and that Mills is somehow reassigned. I also hope that the d league franchise is run the right way and guys are developed there. I was reading last night that teams can sign 3 guys from their training camp to their dleague team in addition to having two guys on assignment there. Hopefully the Knicks take advantage of this and also work on developing coaches to eventually work on the knicks bench. Really excited about Phil. I think he is a global thinker and has the power/ autonomy to make the right moves to get the Knicks on track.

If Melo isn't part of the equation, shouldn't our main concern be about maximizing the value of our 2015 pick? If there is any coach that is bad enough to screw up a season while seemingly trying, it is Woodson, which makes me think that we should keep him around until we get that pick. It'd be perfect too because we could make him the scapegoat.
I don't want Woody no matter what. He needs to be fired now or after the season.

I don't hate Woodson but it is a new era and time for a fresh start. Woodson's gm was fired prior to the start of training camp. Phil needs to bring in his guys and the Knicks need to become whatever his vision of them is.

Alright, fair. Part of me does feel a little bad for the guy. You could see that the situation is definitely weighing on him. The humane thing to do would have been to fire him earlier in the season.

lol, you don't feel a little bad for the guy?
I feel bad for me being subjected to another laughing stock year
Do we have the right to sue the Knicks for subjecting us to this? People use over spilled hot coffee. I don't see why not

+1. Damn that foo sucks at coaching. Get rid a him asap.
Hell no! I fully believe that we can get a coach that's able to implement a system and help our younger players (Shumpert, Hardaway, Tyler) grow while still sucking ass to get a high pick.
I wouldn't keep Woodson to wash team underwear much less coach the damned thing!!!! You're out of your mind!!!!!!
i am not sure how many threads we need to continue talking about mike woodson. we all know his future is bleak unless the knicks win a championship these playoffs.
Nalod agrees along the lines its not about firing woodson, but its about moving forward.
How does one quantify the job he did based on the roster's he has had? Personally I think did a great job last year. Yes Kidd was a big help but successful seasons need good players and leadership. 54 wins was excellent for that old ass roster!
This year injuries killed us, not bad coaching. We throw coaches under the bus as fans (all fans do this, not just us)and bring in a new one only to find its not always the coach.
We have new management and while I have no problem with Woodson my take is its time for him to chill, take Dolans money for a year and figure out his next move.
Good/great players usually make the coach look good. Our roster is clumsy. Woodson looks clumsy.
I hope we make the playoffs. Woodson will have made it every year here. Given our talent, its not terrible. I guess its ones personal expectations of this team can one measure Woodson. Injuries and a sorry back court I lay blame on more than his coaching acumen.
