Knicks · OT: Mozgov Huge Game (page 2)

Regardless of what he does, i doubt Denver will keep him. They will let him go when he becomes a free agent because a team like...i don't know...us will give him a big contract. He's a 3-4 year rental for a lottery team that shows flashes from time to time. Nothing concerning.
subzero0 @ 4/11/2014 10:53 AM

Mozgov has added shooting and post up moves. Wow.

mreinman @ 4/11/2014 10:56 AM
What I could not get over what all the traps and schemes and how good of a defender he was.

Yes he gets into foul trouble, when was the last time Tyson got into foul trouble? Maybe its about time that he did.

Oh stop, ye master of the hyperbole ..

Not "hyperbole" at all.

Are you happy with Chandler too?

I was talking about in this game. I watched the game and I not only like the way he played defensively but I like how Brian Shaw was trapping the pick and roll.

It made me think how well we defended the PnR this year.

Mozgov 23 points and 29 rebounds. 3 blocks and 3 assists.

Can things get worse and more embarrassing for the Knicks?

not sure why thats embarrassing for the knicks, unless he did it against us- we excel in allowing scrubs to become elite for one night!

He did however take months to recover from this:

Does that make you feel better? Step on this guy because you are upset?

Why do fans feel the need to do that?

Is it possible to be honest instead of emotionally irrational?

Nothing wrong with emotions- I watch basketball for emotional, 'irrational' reasons- logically it makes no sense to root for a team as their achievements have nothing to do with me and rationally have no impact on my life. Man, all these advanced stats are taking the passion out of the game.

I'm honestly not bothered about Mosgov- I liked him when he was here, he went into a slump after that dunk and he has done nothing since. He had a big game. He had some more big games this season, but doesn't get consistent big minutes- it makes me suspicious. Every ex-Knick player is going to have big games over the course of years (except Landry Fields)- I don't get what the significance is.

Why not post every time Zach Randolph has a big game, or Jamal Crawford?

Because I have an attachment to this guy since he was ours and we could have held onto him and still have gotten the trade done.

I need emotional separation from an abusive owner who hurt me deeply by giving away some of my toys for free.

And I don't have a problem with that- we all have players that we got attached too (like TKF and Melo). For me, Mosgov wasn't one of those, though I did like him when he was here. I'm curious to see what he's really capable of though- I see he sometimes had big games this season, then the next game his minutes were cut right back.

Also he couldn't seem to beat out Kosfus (or whatever his name was!) as the back up last year, yet then the Nuggets chose Mosgov over him and re-signed him. So basically I have no idea whats going on with him. I don't really put too much stock in how players do in the last ten games of the season though- we've all sean players put up monster n umbers then and revert by the start of the following season.

@SmackD

Mozgov did the same thing when he was here. He would show us flashes of something really good and then we would not see it again for a while.

I have no idea what he can do consistently but it appears that without consistent playing time we will not know.

Offensively, he reminds me a lot of Rik Smits (which also make me feel that he will suffer from plantar fasciitis and/or other foot problems)

Dolan was LIKE, you want the russian guy, all of our picks, gallo, chandler, the new improve felton, take him all, wtf do i care just gives us melo and billups and whatever junk on your roster you dont want..Then he walks out of of the meeting gigiling like a girl and rubbing his hands together, saying..NOW THATs HOW YOU NEGOTIATE, then he gets on his cell, calls walsh and tells him that from now on your just a damn consultant, I cant believe you were going to let melo walk because of this russian guy "whats his name?" look pal, this isn't a little hick town name indiana, we need stars, players that will fill seats up..

lol - probably

I remember when this was going down, Martin posting that "THIS TRADE IS NOT HAPPENING IF IT INCLUDES MOZ" because it just did not seem plausibly sane. It was not! Forget about what happened after, it made no sense to throw him in and we were bidding against ourselves with raisins for balls.

Well ... it happened.

Just like the Bargs trade. Any self respecting fan or pro who knew anything about basketball and had done just a tiny bit of research on his efficiency, would have said "this can't happen, right? I mean ... nobody is that dumb err ... right?

WRONG!

He's scoring, rebounding, and shot-blocking at a much better rate now than with us. Did you see the video? That's not the same player we traded away.

Of course its not the same player. We were looking at the potential of this raw 9 foot gift that came out of nowhere.

A guy like him does not develop overnight.
