i have saved these articles for years and now that the knicks are going to rebuild, perhaps some posters will appreciate the content.

interesting read but what is your point?

These articles are extremely dated and there is much better data out there today that can gauge efficiency net positive/negative.

my point is that they have historical value and, while dated, nonetheless introduce primary concepts to the uninitiated.

The second article was interesting especially the part about JVG and defensive metrics.

Still very interesting how there are a number of posters who believe in their own faulty scout eyes and ignore (or don't comprehend) what advanced stats have brought to this sport.

Players that we used to think or be told that are good are no longer viewed in the same regard since the introduction of advanced metrics.
