Kerr was the only vote that he got. I guess we can already start calling him coach.
I remember Kerr saying that THJ is a player that should be a lock for the Knicks for 10 years or something like that on a telecast of a Knick game.
Very smart move on Kerr's part.

Could be but he maybe the only one who thought that highly of him, hence the 1 vote.
I guess that is good for THJ to know that his coach is so confident in him.
Reason #1 why Kerr should take the GSW gig - They are a better team. It's not a rebuild and hey, the weather is pretty darn good there. Doubtful we hear any news about Kerr until that is decided first. Maybe it doesn't hit the front page, but you can be sure they are talking

He's just trying to help Phil increase THJ's trade value.
Phil: Steve? Phil. Look, puff Timmy Jr. Need to get that trade value up. Give him the ROY vote.
Kerr: Of course, Coach. But won't that look, ummmm, dopey and slightly contrived?
Phil: Zen is never having to say you're sorry, remember? Try smiling ever so slightly and looking like you know more than you actually do.
Kerr: Got it.

I doubt Phil would trade Hardaway Jr. Lets afce it thr reason the knicks have been a mess for the past 15 yaers is because we tarde too much youth/picks for overrated players with hge contracts

but you would package him for a above avg player such as rondo?

Hell no on Rondo

Over pay for an over the hill, injury prone, bad attitude PG who can't shoot? Not interested and I am sure that Phil isn't either.
That is the typical move that has gotten us killed. Have we not learned from that crap?

disagree completely
Sure looks that way. Kerr was a gunner and so is THJ. Hopefully Kerr can teach Hardaway to pick his moments better, got a little 3 point happy at times. Kerr was never the athlete that THJ is but I believe he will help him make better decisions on the floor.
Should I now question Kerr's decision making? He really picked THJr?

Ha Ha, good one. Looks like the actions of a future Knicks coach. I dont believe Kerr would have picked THJ if he wasnt going to be his coach, at least I hope thats the case.

Exactly. Sooner or later you need to build through the draft. I know people ahte the term rebuild BUT to be completely honest we have actually ended up in worse shape the past 15 years by giving away picks and youth for bad contracts/overrated players

wouldn't be the first time someone used us to get a bigger pay day somewhere else. I'm not holding my breath on this one. There's just been too much leaked too early to not consider the possibility. Since when do private talks become so public?
The creed is you don't interview or comment on a team that has a coach employed. While Kerr might have been contacted by two other teams it seems like he has to Shyt or get off the pot regarding the knicks.
He might be using other teams as leverage to negotiate his knick contract?
This is tricky for all because is Kerr going to have melo? Would Melo be a part of the process now, or is he really going to involve the recruiting process? Seems like many signs pointing to Kerr for now.
I love how the lakers "Want to make a splash" with their next hire. Ettore Messina has been floated around with Brooklyn (was Moscow's coach when Prokorov own them) and could be what Kobe wants. Until he don't.
I will be pumped for Kerr... simply because its Phil's first choice and I want to see some of these players in a system run by the two of them.

yup. They brought Phil here...let him do his job. If he thinks that is the choice then we gotta roll with him.
