He reminds me of Toni Kukoc: same game, same build and also Croatian. He looks like the kind of guy that would skyrocket up the pre-draft rankings. I could see him going top 8 or 10 but right now, he is projected to go in the teens by hoopshype and nbadraft.net

I see more Maciej Lamps in his game than Tony Kukoc. I'd rather go after a point guard prospect if we get a pick that high.

Saric has some T-Rex arms and is projected to be a much higher pick While Bogdan Bogdanovic is more of a G/F, or SG/SF, he has the same reach/length as Saric with better physical abilities and a fluid spot shooter
In any case, I would much rather have a PG and PF/C in
DeAndre Kane - especially with Ron Harper as a mentor/development/assistant coach because he is VALUE with the ability to defend 2 positions in PG/SG and has LEGIT PG skills, a true BIG PG, not a combo guard
Burton - a combo guard with extreme explosiveness, speed/quickness, strength, and athletic abilities

I agree, however this is a DEEP DRAFT, and many talents will go not get picked with only 60 spots For that reason we should still do our homework, in addition to buying/purchasing picks with the 3.2m allowed and I think we can use it again this summer to trade for the rights of players after the draft, sometime shortly after July
With possible trades/interest in the league, we should keep our eyes open and evaluate talent, even if we currently do not own any picks And with CA, Tyson Chandler, Iman Shumpert, and even both JR Smith (think his value will increase as it takes time to get back to his NBA shape follow surgery, in his contract year with a player opttion) and Tim Hardaway JR (if we can sell high) possibly drawing interest

The only PG prospects projected to go in the teens are Shabazz Napier and Tyler Ennis. When you draft, you always go with the best player available and neither is a better prospect than Saric (though I hope we do get Ennis as well).
P.S., Lampe couldn't run point like Saric and was much more of a big man prospect. I don't see the comparison.

None of the guys you mentioned are even projected to go in the first round (or even to get drafted). Why are we reaching on our picks?
Saric is 19 years old and still growing, which makes me less concerned about his wingspan. The guy has a very polished offensive game, as the scouting video reflects, and can run point. Those are skills that far surprise anything we've seen from Bogandovic, who looks like he'll be a 2nd round pick. Wasn't he already drafted by the Nets?

The Lampe comparison has more to do with Saric's physical readiness I'm not sure how much floor time this kid gets in his first few years do to his lack of strength and foot speed. Kukoc played several years in Europe and had was fully developed before he came to the states. Sakic isn't at that level yet. Also, I don't see Saric becoming athletic enough to play small forward full time. I've got to be honest tho, I've only seen him play through various internet highlight clips. As for point guard prospects, I'm really impressed with Elfrid Payton and wouldn't mind nabbing him if we had a pick in the teens. He is a good athlete and has the potential to be really good on defense. I wouldn't be surprised if his draft stock gets another boost in the weeks leading up to the draft.

You and me both, so you can take my opinion with a grain of salt. Saric's skillset is very rare and I believe that they are tangible to a NBA game. He has his flaws but they seem to be products of inexperience and an immature body I.e. correctable. Based on limited information, he's the kind of player that I would bet on because at the very least, he'll carry the potential tag long enough to be tradeable for an actual asset.
I like Payton too, a lot exactly, but don't think he'd fit in the triangle. The guy is more of a prototypical PG and doesn't seem to have much of a jump shot. Those two things led to his namesake, Gary, having a less than stellar showing with the Lakers back in the day.
