We need to hire D.Fisher as the next coach, who's a natural born leader of men, with championship experience. He's the best option that ny fans would accept, players would respect, and Phil would trust in teaching his triangle offense. On top of that, he's one of the most respected players that Durant looks up to as a mentor / father figure. KD gets to come back to the east coast, have Fisher as his head coach, Phil as his GM, and potentially another star player either Melo, Love, or whoever is available since we will have cap space to add multiple stars. If i was Phil, I would sell this plan to Melo, Durant and Fisher. I believe this would bring at least 1 championship ring in the Phil Jackson era. Once they agree, and word gets around, you will hear even more Lebron to ny rumors, that might actually be true this time. This is a guarantee championship plan.
Durant is in OKC for life- he also said he doesn't like big cities either, or the media spotlight. I don't think there is any chance at all of him becoming a Knick
There's zero chance he leaves a good team in OKC to come join our mess.

Even if Durant is 99% sure to never leave OKC, Fisher is that 1% that could make him leave.
Plus he's a perfect puppet and a leader of men, with earned respect across the NBA.

Watching Durants MVP speech you can see that its all about his relationships and the fans. He loves OKC and they love him. No way he is leaving unless they relocate the team again.
If you are an established player why on earth would you want NYC. The Media is brutal your kids are gonna read crap about you. You make the same living elsewhere marketing has basically become global it really doesn't matter where you are in the US. I see more Durante commercials than Melo commercials. The New York Media is a huge distraction from what is important. I want to apologize for sounding like "Playa" NYC ain't no place for small town guy way to many distractions here. You have to get twelve guys on the focus with all that is happening that is tough.
agree with your points about Fisher. I think he would be great choice. A good leader and a guy Phil would set up for success. Durant strikes me as a guy who would rather have a great career with one team then chase a title.

Agree....Also Durant may be on a small market team....but he's not from a small market area. I play ball with people that's always talking about Durant because this is his home town. Maryland / DC is where he goes during his off season. This is where his family and pre superstar / highschool fans are from and how he became who he is now. At some point everybody wants to live out their child hood dreams of winning a championship close to home...which is why melo came here. And why Phil is here.
I know it's a long shot, but it's one of many bonuses for hiring Fisher as your coach. Put Durant and Phil together in the triangle, and (in the words of Lebron James) you might have not 1...not 2....not 3...
Worse case if Durant doesn't come, you still have a young coach groomed by Phil, using this next season as Phils training session, until the big free agent year arrives. It's a win....win

OKC doesn't want to pay the luxury tax of course which is insane to me because if the team is elite that's the time to spend and build a dynasty luxury tax be damned. Pretrade Harden actually said he'd be willing to play 3rd fiddle forever (I guess the stipulation was he get paid like a 1st fiddle). Anyway, a Durant Westbrook Ibaka Harden core all going through their prime together? If that team began to fire on all cylinders they could've been a wrecking ball for years. Unbelievable luck and drafting skills got them three top 10 players or 2 top 10 and one top 15, whatever. And they blew it to pay less tax. Ugh. Just as a fan of the NBA it's upsetting to think what if.
Reminds me of when we thought Lebron would come here because we had Dantoni. We thought hey, why wouldn't an offensive force like Lebron come here and run and gun, score 40 ppg and be God.

That's why we had Wall Street and Madison Avenue shmucks showing pie charts to Lebron to prove how coming to NY would make him billions....little did we know, he didn't want to score 40 ppg, and the guy takes less money to make his own team after getting fucked time and time again by the Cavaliers...all he did was something that the organization he played for couldn't...build a championship contender.
Now, say that again...Championship Contender. Does that sound like this organization? Nope. Not now, hasn't been in 40 years, or anytime soon.
We ain't getting shit. We are getting spurned by nobodies like Kerr, who was going to make more in the next four years than he has in his entire playing career and work for and learn from an 11 time champion coach..but he would rather coach in Oakland.
New York...it's not everything it's hyped up to be...that's why I say, forget about these dreams, forget about luring superstars from other teams. Blow this shit up and start from scratch.
