He says he is a system player and not an ISO centric player..It's what got Avery Johnson fired...

“I’ve really had injuries I’ve been dealing with the whole time,” Williams said. “I didn’t have the talent around me I did there. Their system was a great system for my style of play. I am a system player. I loved coach (Jerry) Sloan’s system there, I loved the offense there.”

“I grew up in high school, my coach wasn’t one of those guys who would just throw out the ball and let us play,” Williams said. “We were a system team. We had a staple of plays that we relied on. We were good at execution. In college (at Illinois), we ran the motion offense. A lot of cutting, a lot passing, a lot of screening, a lot of extra passes. I’m used to just movement. So I’m still trying to adjust. It’s been an adjustment for me.”

Sloane must be rolling on the floor , laughing!

Why are people interested in s player that got Jerry Sloan fired? We can do a lot better than that for that type of money. I hope we never try any type of deal for this guy. Plus he is obviously on the decline.

I hope DWill gets traded to Houston.

His decline has been unbelievable- I thought only Players that ended up Knicks went downhill that much, that quickly!

ankle-itis

Not just physical though- he let his conditioning slide and went from having a great competitive attitude to being a complaining asshole

conditioning has always been an issue for him. xtra weight on bad ankles doesnt help.

I know Cuban wants Tyson back, but is he that stupid? And I thought the key to this whole deal was getting rid of Tyson AND Felton?

About half the teams in the league are reported to have cap space, at a time when Greg Monroe headlines the class (since LeBron&co are expected to re-sign, as well as Dirk). I think many of those teams will have difficulties in spending the money, Dallas among them, so why not take on Amare's deal for one year if it means getting a more-than-serviceable player back?

As for Felton, I honestly could see the Nets taking both he and JR for Marcus Thornton's expirer. We might have to add cash in the deal but I think that it is still workable.

I like DWill staying nj/bk with his huge salary.

I think Drummond is the big with the brightest future right now. When is his contact up? Will Detroit part with him for any package we can provide?

I doubt van Gundy will part with him.

Deron Williams will have surgery on both ankles Tues, Nets say. Will have bone chips removed from right, bone-spur removal from left.

Yeah. Ron Jeremy will probably really like him

No way in hell. He's worth more than our entire roster cloned 3x over.

True. Very true.

just had surgery on both ankles. Perfect for the Knicks. Bargs/Felton/JR for DWilliams and someone making about $3mm

I couldn't believe Billy king was hired again by anyone, the guy has been a flat out awful GM for most of his career. As for DWill, he is about to have surgery on both ankles. Good luck finding a taker with his contract.
