According to some media reports, Love says that he wants trade now, or he will be leaving at 2015.
Melo, Phil, do your thing now! Make it happen, Love could be awesome in the triangle
Dolan, hands off!
And I'm sure he wants a max contract
Him and Melo in the same lineup?
Kahn's legacy lives on- brilliant idea of his not to give his top player the max length of contract when everyone knew they'd struggle to re-sign him when he became a free agent.
This s not going to happen but if they want to make a run they would need to trade Tyson for a 2015 pick and then send it to the Timberwolves with the 2018 pick(protected if smart) and Hardaway Jr. They also would probably have to take back Budinger and Moute.
NY:
Love
Budinger
Mbah a Moute
Timberwolves:
2015 1st?(via Tyson hopefully)
2018 1st(protected hopefully)
Tim Hardaway Jr
Amar'e
However, if Love actually pushes for Ny maybe they can keep Hardaway Jr.
melo and love? how does that work?

You'll need a lot more than that to get it done.

I think you are right unless he says he will only resign in NY
I think Phoenix is his most likely landing spot. They have a ton of picks they can use in a trade and they're far enough under the cap that they should be able to absorb Love's deal without having to send any money back to Minnesota.
We have no assets to trade for love. The only way is if we were able to trade tyson for a 1st round pick and do a S/T with Melo to get more assets. So Free agency is the only way to get him BUT we know a lot of players/coaches use the Knicks for leverage

I actually think the Knicks can get involved in this if they liquidated Melo's and Tyson's value and were willing to take back the Wolves' longer termed deals. A package including Boston's picks or a bundle of Chicago's picks and assets should get it done.

Love's going to get traded before he ever sees free agency. The Wolves are not stupid enough to gamble that big, considering their odds. I've been saying that for months.
Unless Love says Knicks and no one else, we have no shot at all.
We can trade Melo for Love straight up? Or does Melo have to agree or pick up his player portion first? If he picks it up we can then trade him right? Both are one year rentals. So we still have all that cap space next year and the opportunity to convince Love to stay.

We have 2015 to work our magic. If that falls through, I've warmed to the idea of acquiring toxic contracts in Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans, if it includes Jrue Holiday. That trio (mostly the other two not named Tyreke Evans) with K.Love would be pretty impressive in the East. If we managed to include Gorgui Dieng in the deal with Love, I think we could be legitimate title contenders if everyone is healthy.

Why would Minny do that? They'd trade a younger, superior player for Melo, who would still be eligible to walk in 2015 as an unrestricted free agent. It doesn't make sense.

I doubt it could get done before the draft but that would be a great spot if he like it. I would think clubs would still be weary to rent Love if he is not in love with them because of the Howard situation.
Also, If I am a star player in the west that have been losing all my career I would move to the east.
Isn't Love is one of the biggest plans in 2015, it's Love or Aldrige no? if so, why not go at him right now? if he is gone now, what is the plan for 2015? sometimes you got to do what you got to do.

YOu think the owner did not drive that decision?
Love I think had foot problems. ONe more year and Love would be asking the same thing. HE got the money, it was the length.
sometimes you over pay, and sometimes you under.
I don't see Love here with Melo unless its a convaluted multi team deal my imagination (sources) can't reach to grasp.
