It's pick 51. Wasnt expecting of much
nixluva @ 6/26/2014 11:49 PM
Antentokounmpo!!!!!!!!!! HA HAAAA. I love his brother and me and my sons love saying his name out loud around the house when he scores. I thought we'd go for Patrick Young. This kid has a live body and they say he can really defend. What does this mean for the roster going forward? Who knows. He's a bit raw so maybe he'll be stashed in D League.
VCoug @ 6/26/2014 11:50 PM
Have a good night all. I'll sleep soundly knowing that we've just drafted two future Hall of Famers
Knicksfan @ 6/26/2014 11:51 PM
They say his defense is NBA ready and his comparison is Bruce Bowen. That is nice.

I still want a big.

meloshouldgo @ 6/26/2014 11:51 PM
Could be worse
NYY1NYK2 @ 6/26/2014 11:55 PM
If jahii carson goes undrafted, do u think phil signs him?

He man we actually had a very nice draft. I think we have to see what else transpires from here, cuz Phil isn't done. CE is a talented young player and Thanasis is a REALLY live body and great defensive guard with upside.

BigDaddyG @ 6/26/2014 11:56 PM
I thought Christin was a first round talent.

Wouldn't be surprised if we bought another pick and got Young. He may even fall to us as a free agent.
NYY1NYK2 @ 6/27/2014 12:00 AM
GetCarson and young, trade prigs, larkin, cj leslie
Andrew @ 6/27/2014 12:00 AM
We got pick 57 now?

Looks like Phil picked high energy, high motor, players.
djsunyc @ 6/27/2014 10:24 AM
just an update on the raptors/bruno pick:

we promised to take him at #37 but apparently, okc or phx was going to take him with their late 20's pick in the draft.

ujiri wanted tyler ennis at #20. but phx threw a wrench in the plans taking him unexpectedly at 18.

toronto had a deal lined up with memphis, john salmons + #37 for prince + #22. would've give the raptors 20 + 22. they were ready to take ennis at 20 and bruno at 22.

since ennis was taken and ujiri found out bruno wouldn't be there at #37, he took him at #20.

they were the only 3 teams to really scout him and ujiri went to brazil 3 times to see him.

dwayne casey compared him to a high school rashard lewis whom he saw when he was assistant with the sonics. but along with much better defense.

its' one of those highest ceiling picks that he was forced to take earlier than he anticipated. he'll be with the team next season and is expected to contribute in about 2 years. he's only 18

Yeah, you hope he's ready in two year. The kid can barely dribble and he looks like he might be infested by tapeworms lol seriously tho, I saw the draft express video and the kid has talent. But he is about four years away.
RonRon @ 6/27/2014 12:10 PM
Would have really like it if we were able to get

Nikola Jovic
Dwight Powell
Spencer Dwinwiddie

however, there are still some talents that I feel could be great acquisitions for us
By July 1st we would also explore buying the rights for players or a player drafted with another 3m to spend

Center
============

Backnaski, he is 25, but a shot blocking C that is extremely mobile, rebounds the ball, very mature, has high IQ, and lefty with decent stroke/post game

PG/SG's
=============

DeAndre Kane
Kendall Williams

I think both Kane and Kendall Williams are Phil Jackson type PG's while getting a development coach/assistant coach like Ron Harper or even Walt Frazier, maybe Billups *who I think would have been great to mentor Spencer Dwinwidde who was drafted by Detroit and has a team option on Billups so he could be in the plans of guiding him develop as a assistant/development coach or players coach*

Bryce Cotton ex NYK standout of Lasalle High School coaching him, God Shamgod, who went to school and played with MWP aka RonRon aka Ron Artest, played for Providence for 3 years as a Junior guided by Shamgod as a coach

DEONTE BURTON, has 1st round potential though not a Phil Jackson like PG, more of a SG than PG, but NBA ready scorer/athleticism though only 6-1
Burton ironically is comparable to a YOUNG Raymond Felton but with 10x more athleticism, ability to penetrate/finish, making him comparable to a hybrid of Felton and Wade/Monta Ellis
He is also very strong and has the physical tools to become a good NBA defender, with these abilities he would be a good fit for Calderon though he isn't a Phil Jackson type PG
Could also go with a player like Darrius Morris, an ex Laker and I am sure has learned some of the triangle even without Phil Jackson there
I didn't even realize he was undrafted till a couple seconds ago...
