1.7% chance. That's what CLE had! Wow. Just wow. For some reason this is rely bothering me. I have no idea why, LOL.
Ha, I am irrationally bothered by this too! Apart from the odds thing- they don't deserve that luck! They've squandered most of those picks with stupid choices, and now they get ANOTHER number 1 pick!

Also, LA doesn't have the cap room to trade their 1st for a FA, according to Larry Coon. They would have to wait until after the draft.
They both play the same position, don't they? Or do you project Giannas to be a stretch 4?
No, I see Wiggins playing the two.
He can shoot and defend the position, so I could see it. You don't think that he'd be at his best at the 3 though?
You know what's sick is that Giannis was initially a PG/SG before a massive growth spurt so he can play the 2 as well. Imagine a lineup with Gianni's and Wiggins, interchangeably at the 2 and 3?

I see them locking teams swingmen down. Brandon Knight is a pretty good defender as well. The Bucks might've stumbled into something.

Send Carmelo to the Lakers for the #7 and that PG they got from the D-league midseason.

Why? There is no star potential with that 7th pick.

Oh, oops, should've been clearer: I'm working under the assumption Carmelo is leaving. I'm convinced he wants out. So I'm just thinking of possible trades to get something of value back.
I'd rather have that 7th pick and the young PG than the two bulls picks.
There could be some nice value at 7 assuming someone drops as always seems to happen. Maybe Exum or Smart drops?

Melo wants to go to win- the Lakers are not going to win even with Melo- they are beyond awful.

Eh, maybe LaLa will coerce him to go to LA. Honey nut Cheerios are a helluva drug.

I can't argue with getting something, when the other option is to get nothing. Still, I kinda feel we could do better. I honestly feel that Boston's picks will be in play. I much rather move up to 6th and be in a position to get Vonleh than Smart.

Or, how about just being the meat in a double decker heiress sandwich?

I'm all for getting as high a pick as possible if it comes down to that. I hadn't heard the Boston rumors. Do you think they'd deal with NY? Actually, if they are doing a rebuild would they want a player like Melo? Would Melo want to be part of a rebuild? Rondo + Melo plus nothing else is not a contender. I guess a three way deal could be done somehow.
But like I said, if Melo is gonna walk I'm all for getting as much as possible. A lotto pick would be great.

Anjali is cuter but Mallory has great legs.

I cant believe Cleveland has that kind of luck, lets see if they don't try to get too clever by half with their pick this year.
Nalod@ 5/21/2014 11:42 AM
Lakers can just sign Melo outright, why do they need to send us the 7th pick?
Rockets and Bulls don't have the cap space so they need to work a trade.
Pau's contract expired.

You're absolutely correct. For some reason I thought Kobe' contract had put a crink in their cap space next season and that it was only in 2015 that they had enough space for a max. Dunno why I was under this impression.

Most under rated player in this draft--IF we do trade melo for picks with the Bulls--he would be my easy number #1 target--I view him as good as ANY player with the exception of a HEALTHY Embiid. He is as good as Paker Smart Wiggins etc... hes going to be a 20+ NBA scorer by year 2. He's got a great body a little over 6-8 225 with longish arms--controls his dribble plays good D can score from all over the court and he uses both hands very well. He's as sure a bet in this draft as anyone to be a really good NBA player.
