Knicks · take a look NYK 20+ year history of trading picks.. (page 2)

On the glass is half full side of thinking, I'm surprised to see that we actually did the right thing by trading those picks. We clearly won out in trading Bill Cartwright and our pick (Will Purdue) for Charles Oakley and Rod Strickland. Both the guys we got were quasi-allstars and played at that level for nearly a decade. How about Deert Hammick for Doc Rivers (6th man) and Charles Smith (starter)? And I think Kirk Snider for Stephon Marbury is more than okay in my book.

Where we started screwing up with picks was during the Layden era. From that point on, it's been a routine shit-show.

I just was looking at the 2006 draft when we took renaldo balkman, of that draft class there are only 7 players out of 60 that are currently in the NBA, and remember thats the 06/07 season, roughly 6 1/2 yrs ago.

Rondo , milsap(47th pick) brandon roy and Aldridge, were the only ones to make at least 1 all star game.

Can you really knock the knicks for constantly trading picks

My bad. I thought that you were speaking about Cersei (I didn't know how her name was spelled and thought that "Viserny" was pronounced like it). Now that its been cleared up, I agree with you. Viserny had a malevolent vibe about him though that I don't see in Dolan. It's why I thought Robin was an appropriate comparison because he has that heir of entitlement that Viserny's. Unlike Viserny though, Robin's arrogance seemed to be fueled by a kind of naiveté that reminded me a lot of Dolan. Even the inflections they have sounded similar to me.

when I read that, it seems as though because the Knicks hadn't got burned early they made it a corporate poliy to include picks in to get their transactions done - and then the team got burned big time. But even then it still ticks me off because if I remember correctly, the Knicks traded the pick that ultimately became Scottie Pippen

Damn, I just looked it up: we did. Blazers, Kings, Pacers, Knicks, and Warriors picked Mychal Thompson, Phil Ford, Rick Robey, Micheal Ray Richardson, and Purvis Short before Boston took Bird at 6. That's right up there with taking Bowie over Jordan.
