Insult to what? The most overrated charter franchise ever?

Yeah, we would have been battling the Heat right now if we had swapped Melo with your Boy George...rolls eyes.

Did you have something to do with the making of 2K14? He's rated higher than Melo. I wonder what his excuse will be tonight.

paul george was not treading water tonight. melo on that team in george's place? the real question is whether the pacers even get there?

Nalod @ 5/29/2014 7:43 AM

Nalod thinks its not Melo that fails, its the Starphuchedness that fails the knicks!

Melo in the right circumstance could be a part of a winning franchise. Instead, Dolan made him the franchise.

Phil is not "jesus" or "Obi Won Kanobi" but he is hired to build a winning process.

Everyone not Named Lebron is suspect in the NBA as a franchise talent.

Imagine if we can get our own pick back from Orlando with Vucivic, while Melo going to Orlando and Lebron signing there?
It can happen, they have many assets/young players, cap space, moveable pieces like Affalo's stock rising last season

They have a lot of team options on players and can offer something like 15m each for each player, while making some moves to unload salaries and young talents

Olindipo
Tobias Harris
Lebron
Melo
Vucevic

# pick 4 and pick 11/12, or trading for both Lebron *pick 4 and future picks/players* and Melo *pick 11 and future picks and players*
While having the 5m + MLE to still use...

IF healthy a trio of F's like Lebron, Melo, Harris, in addition to Vucevic who can play both on and off the ball similar to Bosh, even resigning Nelson to a cap friendly deal

Movable contracts like

Affalo, Moe Harkless, Andrew Nicholson, Jason Maxiell, Doran Lamb, Kyle O'Quinn, likely letting Nelson walk unless some team sign and trades him for anything without taking guaranteed money back

Tobias Harris hardly has the lateral quickness to keep up with 3's, let alone 2's. I think it's much more likely the Magic draft Exum and start him there instead. You're right though, a core of LeBron-Melo-Afflalo-Oladipo would be ridiculously good.

I'd much rather keep Melo though and see what we can do insofar as acquiring Aaron Afflalo and Jameer Nelson. Sprinkle in a salary dump trade for Josh Smith and Greg Monroe, I think we'd have the makings of something elite in the East.

Yeah, I think the Magic are salivating at the prospect of grabbing Exum and pairing him with Oladipo. If Exum pans out and is what scouts think he is, that could be one great back court for years to come! It also probably means Afflalo can be had in a trade.

Exum is an Intriguing talent... he and oladipo have the potential to be a nice duo.... very interesting if that ever happens..

If the Lord created the perfect compliment to Oladpio's skillset, it'd be Dante Exum. It amazes me how some teams manage to get lucky with stuff like this.
