Bonn1997 will be pleased:
twitter is blocked for me... mind pasting quotes?
Sure:
Phil says he's spent last few weeks focusing on how to get the best use out of NYKs video and analytics folks
Phil acknowledges that he has college coaches in mind for the job, too.
Jackson says it would be nearly "impossible" to buy a first-round pick, but may be able to buy 2nd-round selection and will look to do that.
Phil Jackson, on potentially talking with DEN for Shaw: "Denver has everything we've owned [already]." Not interested in giving them more.
Phil says Kerr verbally committed to the Knicks' job the day before the Golden State job opened up.
Phil, on whether he'll go outside his circle 4 coaching candidates: "I have a big circle."
Phil says he asked Carmelo to consider opting in for the final year of his deal. Melo told him he'd think about it.
This is great. Thank you for taking the time to post this. It's like Phil is one of us. Finally an executive who is in tune with every aspect of the organization. The fact he knows that we already bent over backwards for Denver is amazing to me
Also Chris Herring of the wall st journal is by far my favorite Knicks beat guy. He is credible. No agendas. Phil did right speaking to him

Ha, yeah it's uncanny how in tune with this board Phil is! Before his hiring, a lot of posters wanted:
- A fresh new coach like Vogel or Brad Stevens
- more use of analytics
- don't over pay Melo
-Stop trading away picks
- stop negotiating against ourselves.
Seems like Phil is in agreement. Ha- he's even bitter about the Denver trade

He said he expects there to be one before July- he has a B,C,D and E, and some of those include candidates that haven't been mentioned in the rumours. I guess he's just waiting on OKC to lose as it seems Fisher is his first choice.
One last quote:
@PhilJackson11 said he told the players to get on a 10-12 week training program, so they're in shape prior to camp
It was reported a while ago that he was disgusted at the lack of conditioning in our players, so I'm glad he's not going to stand for more of the same.
Wow good information--thanks PJ.
If they buy a 2nd rounder--I would consider Jordan Bachynski. There might be better picks maybe maybe not in round 2 but a rim protector is something we could use coming from round 2.
we never got updates like this from any GM/pres since Ernie and Dave and I wasn't even a die hard back then like I am now
I wish there was a way to thank him for this. Through the rest of the media but they are too busy stirring up contraversy

Yeah, its been a while. Also like how Phil is flexing his muscles, and telling players what he expects from them.

totally agree guns and thanks doggie for posting this. Much appreciated! Music to the Knick fan's ears.
Kinda funnny... everyone is see's no coach and assume nothing's happening, meanwhile the new NYK culture is evolving as we speak. Good stuff.

I would rather him not disclose the canidates he has, but refer to them as plan A, B, C, D...all of a sudden Fisher is a laker canidate..

There was no doubt that it would happen. Fisher is Kobe's choice.

yeah but kerrs name was never mention as a coaching canidate for any team until the day phil was introduce, and this is while woodson was still coaching..I knew for sure mark jackson would be fired after the rumours started flying that him and management wasn't on the same page.
I didn't even know Fisher was retiring until his name popped up as a potential coach for the knicks, and now that we've heard so much about his leadership qualities and the amount of respect the players have for him, not to mention he's from the west coast as well, does phil even have a ghost of a chance..Not only do the Lakers have kobe, they have draft picks, cap room and plenty of money to pay

That is why Phil needs to keep the Media guessing. With Kerr he made it known now he needs to keep the lid on tight and use misdirection on the media. Once they Know who it is there is a good bet other teams will be lurking.
