Fish and Jax have 18 rings between them and they seem to think they can make this work. Not my money but I think it was a smart hire. There needs to be chemistry between the coach and gm and the Knicks have that. Also, a lot of assistants got head jobs last year. Kidd, Fisher and Kerr are just three guys. I think Fisher might be the best of the bunch. The guy was an incredible winner, a leader and he was a role player.
He said he looks forward to speaking to Dolan and getting to know him on a PERSONAL Level
I like how Fisher spoke of learning from the failures as much as the successes. Sounds like a he will make a good teacher.

Don't forget my boy Steve Mills

Yep.
I think it's really more of a result of listening to an intelligent coach speak for a change as opposed to Woodson's bumbling and mumbling stupidity.

Knicks is also the only team that had #1 payroll and didn't even make the playoffs I think. So on the positive side, Knicks has gotten a lot of records lately.
I think Fisher will be worth the pay if he can learn from Phil coaching guidance and make into his own. However, I don't see Fisher working well with Anthony or Amar'e, and the Knicks should try to get Durant to play for the Knicks given Fisher's relationship with him in the next 2 years. Hopefully this will be an investment bigger than the 'outrageous' pay.

Fisher reminds me of when Doc first coached. Well spoken, stern, charismatic & confident. This is how it's gonna be. Get on board!

I feel the same way sometimes, but like that lame asS woodson would say "HE'S A BIG PART OF WHAT WE DO IN TERMS OF WINNING BASKETBALL GAMES"
And like Phil said, you need a guy when who can get you points when the offense isn't clicking and the game becomes a drag. The good thing about it is the ball won't stick, and he'll be taking much better shots, as well as JR..
I think what impress me most about fisher is the fact that he played 17 years in the NBA without being great at anything. His career stats are head scratching when you look at the amount of yrs he played

Luke has been mentioned a ton by Phil himself, books, interviews, etc.

That's just the media. 99% of the time their questions are gonna be focused on the team's best player, especially when he's on the cusp of leaving via free agency.
I was actually sick of all the Lin questions during his time and the fact that they had one reporter there specifically just to ask questions about Lin no matter who was getting interviewed. That didn't mean I was ready to "move on" from him.

+1, but did you really have to ask that, fish? You know what the answer will be. Picks, cap space, yoot, plans, basketball the right way, blah blah blah...
I like how CONVINCE is a bad word but PROVING is okay. Semantics is everything in Zen.
Melo: So WTF is this triangle thing, anyway?
Derek: It's a way of life, Melo, it's not a thing.
Melo: You know, there's an "I" in Iso and Triangle, did you ever notice that?
Derek: It's a thing we do not speak of.
Melo: Well, if you can get some of these other schmoes to hit shots in this new way of life, I'm already convinced.
Derek: Do not be convinced, become one with it, Melo. Do or do not, there is no "convince"...
PJax: Well said, grasshopper, well said.
Playa and the triangle...........

He coached at the D league last year.
