Knicks · Technically...we still only need a center and a point guard (page 1)

EnySpree @ 6/13/2014 11:09 AM
Amare is a beast scoring inside even through the injuries. He's a lousy defender and rebounder but that could be masked by a center that has a mean streak....Andrew Bynum. I can totally see him signing here for the minimum.

We are all obsessed with trading tyson to OKC, maybe we send Shump over too ...What if we could get Perkins and Reggie Jackson?

Keep in mind we have Jeremy Tyler who might take a step forward at least we hope. We still have JR Smith and Thjr. Priggy would be a good role guy aka Kerr type with some defense. Phil could add a grunt like Ivan Johnson for cheap or some other glue guy to do the dirty work.

Amare, Melo, Bynum, Jackson, JR Smith... That's a good starting line up.

Tyler, Thjr, Priggy, Lamar Odom, Ivan Johnson, matt Barnes (from the clippers) or someone like them to fill in out the bench.

If they buy in and coach fish does his thing.....we are back in the mix

Totally agree and is true

and so have said for the past DECADE

While we passed up on

Bynum
Jrue Holiday/Lawson
Hibbert/McGee
Lopez brothers

also with the Curry/Marbury trade, losing out on possibly of

Alridge, Noah, Paul George

Its a lot easy to say but with out current salary cap restrictions and no draft picks its gonna be tough for next year. Bynum for instance is always injured. I like Amare but you never know when his knees will give out. Good point guards are also tough to fine especially with limited funds. Not trying to be a downer just being realsitic. Next Year will probably be rough BUT 2015 will be better when we have more cap space

Amare's knee will not give out in contract year.

Bynum? What is this fascination based on?
Why the Bynum threads? The guy's about two steps away from being out of the league.

Point is we dont know when his knees will give out. Last Year was very surprising that he lasted pretty much the whole year.

Melo is not coming back.
misterearl @ 6/13/2014 1:01 PM
"Bynum... really... are you serious?... Bynum...?"

Technically... Phil Jackson will purge the entire roster in 2015.

It is about his legacy and building a future.

Not rehashing the past.

^This

I know it's hard for some to stomach but that is reality

MaTT4281 @ 6/13/2014 1:20 PM
Please no Bynum. Not even on a minimum contract. The man is a lockerroom plague.
RonRon @ 6/13/2014 1:53 PM
I was talking about DRAFT SELECTIONS that we had both PG and C available but never even filed em out despite REBUILDING and NEEDING those same exact roster spots
H1AND1 @ 6/13/2014 2:05 PM
Bynum has a mean streak? I see a guy who could care less and gives mimimal effort.
RonRon @ 6/13/2014 2:08 PM
I was talking about DRAFTING on needs and potential, at one time Bynum was easily a top 5 Center in his prime
Right, not so much, though a vet min deal would still be worth the risk/reward

Lamar Odom was allegedly smoking crack last year but Steve Mills seems to think he will be a rotation player next season.

Bynum strikes me as an asshole....but that asshole won a title with Phil and Fisher with the Lakers. Maybe that's what the kid needs to succeed.

Anyway.... This thread isn't just about Bynum. There's other things going on besides a guy I mentioned as a minimum salary guy. Bynum and Perkins with maybe Alrich and Jeremy Tyler in the mix. That's better that what we have going on now.

I think bynum's knees are worse than oden's. I don't think it is something he can overcome and I am not sure if he has the make up to even if it is possible. Odom may overcome addiction. Not sure but I dont think the Knicks are counting on him.

Who's the top free agent though? Love might be on a new team this off season, Rondo is a Celtic lifer, Marc gasol isn't leaving memphis, and lamarcus isn't leaving Portland.....

are we destined to be a shitty franchise until a high school freshman from 2014 becomes eligible for the draft in 5 years to come save us?
