Like your poll, we don't have much in the way of choices.
He's the most hyped GM we've ever had. He's ex-Knick. He's talking up a storm.
And it's not likely he'd hide (or even fit) in a closet during contract negotiations.
We must trust.
Trust him. 18 rings between him and fisher. When you add in a the assistant coaches they will bring in that's 111 rings in the organization
Nothing is a guarantee but I like our chances a lot more than the last 15yrs
It's about establishing a winning culture first. Get guys to play hard win or lose. Like the celtics are doing now. Then plug in the talent using the draft, smart trades & free agent signings. That's how you build a sustainable winner.
Isiah's Knicks had talent but it was a circus
We have to trust him for now because he has done nothing to lose our trust. The team didn't have a losing season because of him (Yet.) We know of no locker room turmoil because of him and Fisher (yet.) We also know zero drama resulting of him (yet.) Nothing has happened that yielded positive or negative results on and off the court so we have no choice but to trust him. Why wouldn't we? Did he cheat on us or something? No. When we see consistent negative results that are results of his moves, or lack of moves, then we can say we can't trust him.... and we can't necessarily judge that until another year because next season is most likely a transition season anyway, with a draft pick on the way. We may very well want to suck!
I trust Phil but i am patient. Its probably gonna take a few years. I think Phil Jackson values draft picks more than previous GM's. He also values players that fit a certain system. he isnt gonna starphuck which has been the reason we have had a miserable 15 years
It's not I don't trust him. I don't trust Jimmy will let Phil have total control, period. Also, Phil can pull another Larry Brown if Jimmy steps in again. So trust? None at all, and it has nothing to do with what Phil's ability is. If your car is a Pinto, and Michael Schumacher drives it on a race track, would you trust him?
it doesn't matter whether you trust jackson, it's whether dolan does. that said, no fan need refrain from criticizing a gm if the fan has good reason to disagree with certain decisions. the operative phrase here is "good reason." most fans are mighty stupid in so many different ways.
Especially the ones who envision a scenario where they actually know better than someone with 13 rings.
Not sure I fully believe he can deliver a championship in 5 years, especially when we have to burn a year of that waiting on expiring contracts.
I do, however, trust that Phil is going to give us some of the best basketball we've seen from this franchise in 15 years. That is more than enough for me to support and remain optimistic for.
