They wont be giving up Noah, just can end that dream now.

Stranger things have happened. I would be damned impressed if Phil could pull it off.

really? I think you can count that out. I will argue that noah is a better basketball player than carmelo. The bulls would be nuts to do such a thing...

I would argue that you have an all consuming fetish.

yes I do, I am consumed with good basketball players. I am consumed with watching great ball, I am consumed with getting trash off my team, losers.. yes I have a fetish for greatness.... I have a fetish for players who play hard, with integrity. I have a fetish with wanting them on my team instead of selfish bums.. YES, I have an all consuming fetish for greatness!!!

Lol, you get an A for effort. Some day we will talk about another player, any player, a coach, the scorekeeper, not your fetish.

I have a fetish for spotting unrealistic post.. like getting noah for carmelo....I would love to talk about something else, but post like these keep rearing it's ugly head.. go figure..

Ugly is trying to derail thread after thread over a fetish. Is it realistic trade? Probably not considering the Bull's plans for Noah, but you couldn't even shoot the idea down without going off on a tangent about Melo. You couldn't even talk about something else for more than a sentence. Its why I have been asking you to find something else to talk about. If you don't want to, there are plenty of other posters who will oblige you. Enjoy.

threads get derailed when the unrealistic and ridiculous are introduced into the thread..

lets trade felton for chris paul.... tell me, don't you think that will derail a thread?

....and JR had "a real problem scoring from outside" last season, so I'm not sure why they'd give up assets for him. Your trade simply doesn't make any sense. Yes, Gerald Henderson got some starts at the 3 but that was because MKG was injured and not because of some failings on MKG's part. The fact is that MKG played in 62 games and started all 62. You're not getting a talent like that for JR Smith and you're certainly not advancing to the 2nd round because of JR Smith. If he were that good, the Knicks would've comfortably made the playoffs.

you know jr shot close to 38% from 3. MKG is like another Al Farouq-Amino, neither one can shoot. Okay you two continue.

WRONG! He shot 39.4% from 3. What a moron! LMAO. On a serious note, I don't know why I was under the impression that he had a down year in that regard.

Hey, I thought the same thing throughout the season until I glanced at his numbers and was surprised.

I might be wrong about this as well but I think he got off to a painfully slow start. Maybe, first impressions are everlasting. I knew he had started to heat up toward the end of the season but I had lost interest in the team by that point.

Lol Jordan broke the bank for fat al,drafted k brown #1, mkg#2,bismack biyombo. He's not Dolan level but he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

I watched the bobcats a lot this year and the announcers are really critical of mkg he's a mix of Kenny sky walker and shandon Anderson... Maybe not even worthy of a first round pick. Lacks court awareness low bb iq more of a project then shumpert offensively ... Man he can fly though and defend when he wants.mNot a great rebounder only averages around 5 has issues dribbling... Also picks and chooses when to play defense. Averages less then a steal a game. He's just overall not that great. jr is head over heals more talented then mkg.
fitzfarm @ 6/16/2014 1:22 AM
Difference contract wise we can let mkg walk after next year and jr has a eto which I doubt he will exercise.
fitzfarm @ 6/16/2014 1:32 AM
Also thjr is way better then MKG like I said best draft pick since mark Jackson also Timmy really turned on the defense with more pt in the last month of the season... After a full offseason and a coach not afraid to play the youth thjr is going to break out next year 30 min per 17 ppg 1 steal and better shot selection, 2 to 3 reb a game that's my prediction but he has the offensive ability to go for 20 points or more a game as well
smackeddog @ 6/16/2014 2:22 AM
I wouldn't be surprised if Lebron and Melo team up on a team other than the heat this offseason. If I was the rockets I would see if I could trade away Harden (and Asik and Lin) and clear the cap space to try and sign both of them.

As for Jordan's resume: (1) Yes he broke the bank for Al Jefferson, a 2nd team All-NBA center that propelled his team into the playoffs. (2) Yes, he drafted Kwame Brown no.1 but so would 29 other GM's in the league. (3) MKG is an elite defender and solid team guy. Yes, he was a reach but he's far from a bust. (4) Can't say the same about Biyombo but who else was he suppose to select at that point? Royce White? They picked Kemba Walker ahead of him, so clearly the drafting isn't all bad.

Couldn't they do a deal with Celtics and dump Asik and Lin for a 2nd round pick?

Parsons could fetch a reasonable First round pick in a separate deal. Rox don't have to play with us to move cap.
They can basically get a deal done with Celtics with parsons as the centerpiece of a deal.

We need to get rid of JR Smith, I agree. I just don't think that the Bobcats would assume his contract, especially for a guy they value. The only team I could see wanting JR (outside of being packaged with Melo) is the Nets. Pablo Prigioni, JR Smith, Kenyon Martin and Raymond Felton for Marcus Thornton (expirer), Marquis Teague (expirer) and a $3 million trade exception works financially. Jason Kidd has the rapport with those guys to be able to vouch for them and has the veteran leadership to corral JR when he starts acting like a moron. Other than that, expect for JR to remain a Knick.

I don't think teams want to take on $30 mil this season for Lin and Asik.

I'm not going to lie, I really want to see that happen. Those 2 would be extremely entertaining to watch. I could see then being MJ and Pippenesque but in reverse.

Rumor 'round the cooler is that they'll only represent a $16 million cap hold. I'm not sure how all of that works.

The Celtics have the money. Who else, under their current status, are they going to sign on a one year deal that is going to be worth a damn?

You don't spend $30 mil just because you can though. This is a bad financial investment.

Rumor today is Dirk wants him in Dallas.

Dirk-Monta-Melo...............

Nice collection of talent but not sure the chemistry.

Melo wants to win, he can join the spurs or heat for the MLE. The we know he wants to win.
Not much of a legacy but he gets to show off some bling.

No but teams would be willing to take one. Plenty of teams would take asik's expiring and you can get a team to take lin by sweetening the deal.

Having their bird rights might also be appealing

Dirk is versatile enough to make work and Dallas did put up a decent fight against the Spurs in the playoffs. But that team only has a window of about one to two years. Calderon is running with about 300K on the odometer and dirk is up there.
