lopez is never healthy - i wouldn't want anything to do with him
BKN does not have any picks to really trade I don't believe. BroPez if healthy is a rare player in this NBA but those feet!!! I recall Kurt Thomas had all kinds of problems with them when he was young and he played until he was 57!!!
First and foremost is he a Triangle guy? High post pass or Pop? He does have the shooters range. Pulling him away from the basket is pretty much in his game anyway.
I'd say the biggest factor would be what the Doctors say. Melo and ISO Joe would be a hoot to watch. Im not sure Kidd didn't mess with the team too much as they went along. They showed flashes of brilliant ball movement at times but down the stretch Miami's quick defense kicks in and as good playoff teams are suppose to go to the "closer", they just smothered them. Spurs three blowout wins kind of takes out needing a "Closer". Lebron would guard Parker and in the one win that proved to be a good plan.
Nyets need for Deron to be a confident killer as first option, then to Joe or Pierce.

What about Melo for Joe straight up? Its not a fair trade but Melo can just leave us with nothing. Joe with the Zen? Just throwing it out, its nothing Joe ever did in his career but phil says anyone can play in the triangle!
Absolutely not, nor do I believe that Melo would agree to that. The only team I could see him having interest in outside of CHI and HOU, would be Boston. And if its picks you want, they have the 6th and 17th.

THink Boston wants him? Think he wants to be in Boston? They far from being a Melo away from contending. If Boston goes all out they try to land KLove. He is 5 years younger.

I'm all about trading tyson so this trade makes that idea easier to swallow for people that say they would rather keep tyson cuz of lack of for sight.

He has skills no doubt but the problem is the guy has never been able to stay on the court. He's damaged goods, IMO.
The funny thing about BK is as bad as the Knicks are sending out draft picks the Nets are somehow worse. I think they've traded every possible pick they are allowed to trade for the next 4-5 years. With Deron and Lopez injured, Pierce and Garnett aging in dog years and no picks or flexibility they are headed for some moribund years of lottery hell with Boston rebuilding with their picks.

Even if they gave up those picks for Melo, they are due a total of 10 first rounders in the next 5 years, as well as 7 2nd round picks. With the serviceable players that they already have on the books and a slew of cap space, they can upgrade that team quickly ala 2008. Add to the fact that Rondo is a favorite of Melo's, Boston's market (insert joke about the food chain here) and the legacy of the Celtics and I think that it is a realistic possibility.
NO but I wish the Knicks drafted Lopez or another big in the Gallo draft and then went point guard the nest year. Lopez's next surgery probably ends his career. I think he has a few years left on his deal. The Nets are in big trouble.

Boston's far from being out of the picture. Remember that they'll have $20 million in cap space even if they do trade for Love. Melo would still be a threat to head there. At the very least, we'll still be able to acquire several picks, albeit late first round picks (Boston has 10 first rounders o er the next 5 years).

If I'm Minnesota I would take that deal especially if they take Martin's contract too.

Melo for Lopez, Thorton and a filler is actually pretty fair imho....it's not sexy but Lopez is probably the best scoring center we have in the nba.
The triangle is supposed to cater to big men. Its also a spacing and passing type offense so that could save Lopez career. That's my thinking anyway....

Lopez had reconstructive foot surgery. Taking on his deal is a huge risk. I remember reading somewhere that if the surgery was successful he could hope that he is as healthy and foot injury free as Zydrunas post foot surgery but if it wasn't successful it could end his career like it did Yao's.
