But i'm still opting out, wtf is this suppose to mean?
It means he is not taking less to stay with the Knicks. He will take less to join some semblance of SUPERFRIENDS
it doesnt mean anything. He will opt out because its the smart thing to do on every level.
I see him getting the red carpet treatment from the Bulls, Mavs and Rockets to start. Then after being excited about some great opportunities your going hear something like "my heart is with NY, the Knicks and working with Phil and coach Fisher to bring this city a title" at which point tfk spontaniously combusts like a spinal tap drummer.

Melo has the right to do what he wants BUT i dont buy the whole "hero of New York" thing you are saying. Melo wants to win BUT he probably wants a monster contract. Im still hoping Phil can get a sigh and tarde and get us some picks/assets. Nothign against Melo but its time to move on for both sides
Don't believe anyone of them says. They won't tell the public the deal. Its a poker game, a chess game and the moves have to play out.
He only benefits to compliment Phil and Fish as any team interested him him. Its polite and keeps his image good.
Same for Lebron, he won't tip his hat. They just gonna say "I have not thought about it". Thats a crock of shyt.
They haven't, but their agents have.
ALl phil has said is basically "we good either way". Dude don't even talk about the space we can use if Melo bolts.
PHil is chill as if he knows something we don't. HE does.
We may not like it or the reality of it, but they all know what they are doing.
The thing is, they just don't know if it can or will happen.
You want to raise the value of the teams? Raise the TV revenue. one way is to get NY relevent again.
No conspiracy to keep the knicks down. Why has it not happend before? Dolan making money hand over fist and don't care.
Phil is in NY to make shyt happen.

I agree more with what FISHMIKE is saying, for the life of me, i don't see why ppl are still talking about melo wanting a max contract, when he has said a over and over that money isn't what it's about, I'm sure everyone has looked at the last 3 teams that won the championship, almost all of them had stars that had to take a pay cut to win it..
The poor but rich lakers have to pay KOBE half or their salary cap, they won't be winning big for at least 3 to 4 yrs

Well to be fair there is a difference between saying he will take a paycut and doing it. I mean again i dont have anything against melo and i respect his decision to leave if he wants to opt out. I also ahve no problem if he decides to opt in and wait the year out. However if he does want to leave or wants big bucks i hope Phil can at least get something back since we gave up a lot to get him
The funny thing is that Melo would actually be able to make more money if he opted in! The thing is that he'd have to take a chance on not getting hurt or having a bad year and he's not willing to do that.
At this moment there isn't really a great option that is ready made for Melo to just walk into. Several Teams interested in him will have to make moves to get under the cap enough to pay him a salary worth leaving NY for. Sure he wants to win, but he's not playing for chicken feed. I think the Knicks are already in discussions about what it would take to do a sign and trade for Melo. Pretty sure they have an idea of what they'd want from each team in return for Melo.

In the beginning of the year before the season started or the first week in he said he was opting out. Said he never experienced free agency and wants to do so. He is probably just sticking to his plan. He probably will come back to the Knicks and take less money unless Bulls and Rockets sell him on a better situation/plan which is possible.
It is just cosmetic. What do you expect him to say about after meeting with Phil, Mills and Fisher. Breaking up?
knicks1248 wrote:But i'm still opting out, wtf is this suppose to mean?
its basically like telling a girl you still love her but want to see what else is out there
Dissing the legendary Phil Jackson wont help Melo in free agency and he knows it. Melo is smart not to rock the boat right now.
It means..Doh'lan just experienced a very expensive/destructive lesson in what not to do with your team.
It all sounds very contradictive to me, and he needs to quit fckg around and get on board. If you like the plan and love NY, what else is their to talk about. Stop cuddling this bitch and lets go.
I really like Melo, and I think Phil and derek can get through to this dude, I think he's a perfect fit fot triangle, I think between him, phil, fisher and the big apple market, FA's will flock..
One way or another the knicks will win a championship under this regime
Bye Melo goodbye Melo cya!!
Papabear Says
Every damn day the same old bull sh!t. Let it go!!! damn if the man stays he stays. If he goes he goes. The only power that I have is paying money and going to the games. If this is a crash year I won't be going to games but if Melo stays or goes and we try to get in the playoffs I will pay my money to see them play.
