Knicks · Lebron Opts out (page 1)

GoNyGoNyGo @ 6/24/2014 9:37 AM
Just came across ESPN.

The KING is opting out of his contract.

He and Melo are planning something.

gunsnewing @ 6/24/2014 9:39 AM
If that is the case I will never rip Stephen A. Smith ever again in issues perturbing to Lebron. He called this months ago
gunsnewing @ 6/24/2014 9:43 AM
Also would change my perspective of Melo and "test free agency" from dumb as rocks to actually knowing what he was doing all along. More Superfriends collusion
nyk4ever @ 6/24/2014 9:45 AM
imagine if melo and lebron... nah, nevermind.

6 days early....

Lebron can resign for one year with Miami. All opting out does is not hold him to a timetable.

Same for Melo.

This gives them the freedom to do anything. Basically, we can resign Melo for one year for the same money he could have opted in for. As can Lebron.

Or they can both go to cleveland, LA, or what ever.

Melo's interview he said this is about the next 5+ years. If he goes to LA, then its a lie.
I would not believe anything these guys say. Im not saying they are decieving, they are playing the game.
Before I pass judgement, I have to see what they do. Melo in Paris with Kobe? Woop-de-do! La La in Paris? A true fashionista!!!!

Kobe got the continental thing down as he grew up in Italy. I'll give Lebron credit, he stays true to his Akron roots and not pretends to be something he is not. Some how Amare carries the fashion thing pretty good but since his star had dimmed, he is not in the spotlight as much. Carmelo and his pencil thin "Stash" does not work in my book. Then he talks. Not pretty at all.

gunsnewing @ 6/24/2014 9:55 AM
May be wrong but Melo and Lebron opting out means they are looking to team up elsewhere. Most likely Cleveland
Nalod @ 6/24/2014 10:03 AM

Sorry, Lebron with Melo on the knicks (obviously someone gotta go cap wise) as they currently are would be serious.

Even Bargnani!

PHil didn't come here to phuch around!

Nalod dreaming, but thats all its about these days.

Melo:

1- "I think what Lebron, Wade, and Bosh was smart"
2- "I am not waiting till 2015 to contend"
3- Again and again we see, Melo will unlikely not walk away from the 5 year maximum pay that only the NYK's can give, if we give him that type of contract, we will never be able to grab the talents needed to contend unless we can trade Iman/Chandler, JR Smith, Tim Hardaway JR etc at maximum pay outs, and sign many vet min/ undrafted talents to at, unload Felton/Prigs 2015 cap space

Saw this coming 1/2 season + ago, a reason why I said we made a huge mistake by not trading him in last years deadline and even earlier when he had his career year in the scoring title
Our best bet is to trade CA to the team that is to a Western Conference, if not we are building a team that we must be capable of eliminating

Melo likes to score and can has the ability to do so but needs someone to say NO to him and PUSH HIM to another level
Lebron has the ability to break down the opponents DEFENSE, DEFEND MULTIPLE POSITIONS, and CREATE/INITIATE an OFFENSE

They are both good friends, both UFA's, now to which team?

Sun's and Philly's multiple assets, financial flexibility, multiple draft picks, and future draft picks make the best chances of creating a dynasty that can lure both Lebron/CA in addition to other talents

You see everything coming in hindsight.

I think the Cleveland thing is BS honestly. Just my opinion. I think LBJ opted out to take a bigger paycut so Miami could sign Melo. Wade and Bosh might do the same. They might have to in irder to acquire Melo. I'm bracing for it...
gunsnewing @ 6/24/2014 10:08 AM
That would suck. Knicks get nothing out of it?

Much rather see them in Cleveland

Don't get my hopes up! I'm keeping my expectations low so I'm not disappointed!

I don't see it. There bench is already too thin. I realize Heat trying to avoid repeater tax.

I can totally see Melo in Southbeach. Im sure his son will find new friends in his new school! I just don't see the financials. That, or I don't see Bosh. Maybe he opts out and goes for a long term deal. Lets face it, Dinotyopia is not that hot in demand these days!

How does LaLa feel about south beach?

do a google of "LA LA Anthony market america"

and you'll know. She is big with the company "Market America". I did some consulting with these folks years ago and they are a very distasteful group of attenion whores. They make a lot of money and spend a lot of money selling their rich and famous lifestyle to people to attract them into network marking sales pyramid. The products are actually pretty good. Think "Khardasian meets Amway" and you get the picture. They are just very disingenuous people. This is who La La is in business with. They are starphuchers.

How though the pay cuts would be huge. Even if they cleared their entire books could they even offer 15 mil per?

I the supporting cast would be complete trash

fishmike @ 6/24/2014 10:35 AM
Im prob the only guy here but I do not want Lebron on this team. I would rather swing and miss without him. Him being here is not interesting or exciting. He's already won. This is just the flopping mercenary coming here. No thanks. It would be like Jordan joining Ewing for $50mm a year and winning a title. Whoop de doo.

The NBA is not Lebron's personal playground to stack the deck to build his legacy. He's the best player in the NBA. Go be that in Miami or Cle or someplace else. I would rather hope that Gallo and Chandler become future all stars again than watch my team run by Lebron.

No logic... just feelings. I admit that.
