Beef ribs, brisket, and Tex-Mex too. Felton is in paradise.

GustavBahler @ 6/25/2014 6:10 PM
Guess we can throw flu medicine on the court when Tyson comes back. Felton will excite the Dallas fans with his usual strong start out of the gate, then marvel at the sudden decline. Felton did keep us in the Boston series and help us win it, so I have to tip my hat for that.

what the hell are we doing?

someone tell me.

is this a step to tanking?

if so then why get calderon??

Calderon was on the bad Raptors and Detroit. He is use to playing on bad teams.

YES! YES! YES! They can whine together in Dallas.

I love dumping both of them but isn't Jose's contract a big steaming turd?

it's definitely too long considering his age...but Shane Larkin is the icing on that cake. Larkin has 4 more years on the rookie scale. This kid could amount to something. Calderon is a nice stop gap for a kid like him if he pans out.

Tyson Chandler, softer than Charles Smith

Thank The Lord !!! This makes room for Tyler, Aldrich , Patrick young to get serious pt

its funny. Losing Ray Felton the way he was playing under MDA was one of my biggest knocks on the Melo trade. Boy was I wrong. Felton has turned from Tar Heel star to NBA speedster to NBA fodder. He's just done. Tyson was a non impact here. See ya guys. We just got a good PG, a nice prospect, a good body in the paint and picks to play with
RonRon @ 6/25/2014 8:10 PM
Calderon is a PG that has size, with great shooting ability, but the inability to defend/the PG position though can facilitate without much penetration
Not sure how he holds vs SG on DEFENSE but it would be better if we can get a versatile player with physical abilities to also be able to defend both positions, good ability to penetrate and shoot to compliment him
However, Calderon could also be utilized as a backup or a MENTOR role as well
I liked Larkin very much last year however, with this years depth and PG, I like the 2 picks even more
We added a bit more long term contracts but much more productivity as well

Monta Ellis was the opposite, meaning he could PENETRATE very well, and matured much in terms of TEAM BALL and facilitating

I think we need a PG that could defend 2 positions with good penetration ability or another great shooter with high IQ and decent penetration or SG type like Lance Stephenson
While Bledsoe and Jrue Holiday would also be ideal, with Livingston/ Sessions/ Bayless as a poor mans Ellis would be decent

As for this draft, I think these players here would FIT in Calderon and the TEAM
Also still intrigued at

DeAndre Kane

Spencer Dwinwiddie

Deonte Burton

Think all 3 players would bring different elements that could be utilized now and for the future

Some other PG's/ combo guards, in the draft would be 2nd rounders from early to late, to undrafted

Russ Smith
Kendall WIlliams (as undrafted)
Xavier Thomas
Bryce Cotton
Semaj Christon

If we can get higher draft picks, likely with Iman Shumpert and our SG's

Nappier, Tyler Ennis, if PJ Hairson can add some speed/quickness and develop similar to how Lance has

Also at our draft selection, I would look at

SG/SF KC McDaniels, DeAndre Daniels, and Greek Freek's brother

Like Briggs has brought up many times, I think Backnaski would be a complete steal with Dwight Powell as well as our backup PF/C's of the future

We're on the same page with Dinwiddie. DeAndre Kane would be a nice fit as well. Not really crazy about Button in the triangle.
RonRon @ 6/25/2014 8:24 PM
Yes I agree, even with Burton, Burton fits with Calderon but not with the Triangle
