Jerryd Bayless is the guy I want if we're really in the market for another ball-handling guard. I'd offer him the security of a semi-long term deal (3 yrs?) at reasonable pay based on his limited production in the league thus far. I'd also offer him the starting PG role and over 30 mins a night...Why? Because I see the potential for much more than what he's shown so far and I'd be willing to take a chance that he could fulfill his original promise coming out of Arizona (where he was a STUD as a freshman)...Worse case is he's a talented rotation combo guard at a good price (could always be moved later); best case is he turns into a star with the more mins and responsibility...Let's take a shot here -- maybe we uncover a big-time gem at a great rate as early as year 1. If so, we'd be in the driver's seat for a couple of years -- we'd have a great deal in place that bridges him right to his full Bird rights and we keep him or at least put ourselves in position to be the favorites to keep him. I mean WTF are we talking about here -- go get the best talent possible at whatever position you're looking to shore up. That's what we need to be doing, with or w/o Melo...If we're looking to get another PG-type (which I agree with btw -- I'd like more in place than Calderon, Larkin and Pablo), Bayless is a much better option than Tour'e Murry...Bayless by a mile talent-wise and it's not even close. I see a real opportunity to get lucky & steal a deluxe talent here...Take the shot -- the upside potential far outweighs the minimal risk by a wide margin..

His defensive stats on 82games don't do him any favors either. Nelson has just been waived, so his signing would be low risk. But he doesn't address our biggest weakness at the position.

The Team if Melo isn't back really gonna stink next yr, teams with new faces just don't gel overnight especially not in big expectation year 2014/15
