sorry dude, it was Marc Stein's article on Melo that first brings up the Mavs trying to reacquire Chandler. nyk4ever posted the article in a thread here http://www.ultimateknicks.com/forum/topi...
Would you be willing to give up Hardaway and a future 1st rd pick to clear cap space this year?

Seriously? And why would we this?

Because we are the UK forum and that's what we do. Do you mean why would Phil do this?
my short explanation is this. If Melo goes, we go youth movement. If Melo stays, we use our youth to play in FA and put together a team that can compete

You put out an idea and I just did not get the reasoning.

no because any set back can be blamed on Melo. No need to go crazy. Phil can just play it straight. Make smart moves. Make the club better. Dont sacrifice the future.

So you would do this or not? Not really clear where you are headed.

Wow! Step away from the keyboard! and don't post stupid things again. Once a rookie always a rookie.

I find this rude and insulting.

What worries me about the triangle is that every team will be prepared for it.

Sorry but it was a knee jerk reaction to one of the most ridiculous posts i have ever seen. If the Knicks did what you suggested it would have set the franchise back 5 years at least. Totally makes NO sense what so ever.

Loosing Hardaway Jr and a 2018 1rd. pick sets the franchise back 5 years? Now that is a reach. Do you really think Phil is above selling Melo on what we can do to win now? Look at the thread title next time before you stick your foot in your mouth.

We will have better spacing and ball movement, should be a heck of a lot less predictable than we have been IMO. Hoping anyway.

Look Rook I was trying to be nice to you. Trading Hardaway and a 1st rnd pick for no reason??? And I put my foot in my mouth. Why don't u stop talking out of ur azz?, learn some basketball knowledge before u post dumb things. Or get a thicker skin. Everyone that replied to ur post had the same reaction---either "huh??? or whats he talking about???" Rookies should be seen and not heard

The news about dallas wanting tyson goes back to the all star break, their were buyers all over the league for tyson when he was hurt, NY didn't want to pull the trigger thinking we would get it togther once he return.

I was the one to mention Calderón via trade. Find the tread I made. Only then can I go to heaven

hahaha, sorry, didn't mean to suggest you should sell your Hardaway or Stat fanboy jersey's just yet. But if a team w/cap room calls and says 'hey, I think this player would fit what you are doing there. We can eat Stat's salary, just give us the rook Hardaway.' Then Phil hangs up and calls Utah 'Hey, what will it cost to take Bargs off our hands?' All of a sudden. we've added another starter and have cap room to add another key player.
Ahhh but I forgot, you are in the room w/Phil and already know what's in his head. 'Hey Melo, we won't win today, but tomorrow will be better days man...come ride with me man.
Knixkik wrote:I have a feeling Phil is going to do something very unpredictable before Melo makes his decision. After all, none of us expected a deal as bold as the Mavs deal. We acquired a ton of assets and the cupboard is no longer bare. He might be making a push after Gasol, but that may be too predictable. I am expecting him to manuver a big deal involved a sign and trade for Greg Monroe or someone else of that magnitude. Either way, i don't think we will see it coming (unless the Gasol thing comes true.) Any other predictions?
I've actually been saying this same thing for a while so i agree. I don't see any way P.Gasol will sign with us for our mid exception but maybe some kind of sign and trade if we can get below the apron or something but i would love to have him on the Knicks with Melo. I can see some kind of trade involving one or a couple of our guards happening. It sure would be nice if he an find a way to trade one of Bargs or Amare but that might be too tough for Phil but you never know.

I'm sure when the report came out quite a while ago that Cuban wanted Tyson back we all were pretty sure it would happen, i know i was.
