LeBron would be a Knick, so would Gasol
Lebron
Melo
Pau
Jr Smith
Calderón
vroom!
Personally i dont think lebron ever wanted to come to new york. He likes miami and i heard the only other place he liked was LA
IF we didn't trade for CA, we also would be have much more assets and have our own draft picks
Is we didn't trade for CA, we also would not be in the position we are in now
We would have plenty of assets on 1st round picks, 2nd round picks, that were traded for CA and forced us to overpay for talents in
1- Carmelo Anthony
CA ( 2 Golden STATE 2nd round picks, 1 future 1st round pick, and possibly 1 swap)
add in the values of
Felton which was traded for a 1st rounder and Andre Miller
MoZgoV
Wilson Chandler/Gallo
AR (was able to net us back a 2nd round pick at the time of the trade)
2- Felton
Felton ( 2 2nd round picks)
3- Camby
Camby ( 2 2nd round picks)
4- Anthony Bargnani
AB ( 2 2nd round picks and a 1st rounder)
5- In addition to signing Kidd/Pablo and MWP, which wasted our MLE for 2 consecutive years, JR Smith was signed with the room exemption, and was underpaid for a couple years as a Knick
I hope he regains his physical abilities in addition to the skills he had shown as the 6th man of year when we had Kidd, winning the Atlantic with 54 wins in the season
His physical abilities are a big part of Smith's game, with Rebounding, initiate the fast break with rebounds or finish on the fast break, he also needs to regain the speed/quickness/shot selection/ ability to facilitate
He has a player option for next year and likely will do everything he can to come in camp and ready to contribute away, rather in the past coming to training camp while not in shape
Thank you Donnie Walsh! You could have made that last year on Stat's contract unguaranteed and we would be about to win championship next year.

Why dude? Can't you start your own shitty thread to revisit the Melo trade? This is my shitty thread about amare and bargs turning down money to basically both end up playing overseas for peanuts...why can't i have pretty things?
You are talking about What If's, I am continuing your "What if's"

What if you are silently killing me? You are like a tobacco manufacturer in this piece.

Second guess trades, the silent killer.
meloshouldgo wrote:They didn't
Does that make them greedy SOB's for not opting out, taking less and helping the team reduce its salary cap numbers?

if we just amnestied amare and did not do the fukkin bargs trade then we could have built a damn good team.
If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle..... is still fun to speculate.

Or we could have eliminate 37 mil off our cap as well as CA and built all our assets back up within 2 seasons with the cap space.

NYC is a mythical place. NYC isn't a special place like it use to be. The US has big cities all over the place and the residents resent the Big Apple. Back in the days when you told someone you were from NYC they treated you like a king. Now days you tell someone you are from NYC they try to test you.

No, then your aunt would have a vagina with balls instead of ovaries. You're missing a part.
Ummm, you don't happen to have a clown suit in the back seat of your car, do you? Yikes! You be one scary dude.
EnySpree wrote:...why can't i have pretty things?
Because Bargs and Stat might be stupid, but their agents obviously aren't.

+1
And we would have saved money on fire extinguisher glass and medical costs.
I did buy into the "this Bargs guy kills us, and he could spread the floor on Hibbert, and he's an upgrade over Novak, and who cared about QRich..."

Somebody has gotta lighten up the mood. Sound like a bunch of law school drop outs in here sometimes

You're mean. I don't like you anymore.
Never managed to get to law school. I did score a 151 on the LSAT though. That's a fact provided just to dispel the myth that I'm actually a 6'7" crack baby with an IQ of 85.

I'm actually the bastard son of Michael Ray Richardson. That explains all of my frequent grammar and spelling mistakes. My ship never left the dock

Like everything else it's situational. They will never see a contract more than $5M per year or they shouldn't. But I would say Amare is def. selfish for not opting out. He has already made a lot of money over a long period. I am not quote as familiar with Bargs history. The fact that he is a knick still surprises me from time to time.
Then again just opting out does not make you less selfish. LeBron is opting out to get more. Wade and Bosh to get less. Melo may be opting out to stop playing for the Knicks. Money is one part off the equation.
Also personally I like Amare and his overall work ethic. He tries to be a teamplayer and will play what role the coach has asked of him. Can't say the same for Melo. Too much sulking and pouting and and self centered. The guy openly said he wants the Dwight Howard treatment. So as far as I can tell with Melo it's always about MElo and never really about the Knicks. The reason I am bringing this up is because you asked if I think Amare is a selfish SOB. And honestly I don't think opting in our or of a contract is the only criterion to judge selfishness on.
