It would be an awful fit, especially chemistry wise- none of those three have leadership or championship personalities.
Whats up with putting lins jersey on melo and then posting it all over the building for the world to see when Lins still on your roster. Now thats a real classy place to play.
Thats pretty fcked up

I don't see how they can keep Lin on the roster after what they did. I mean, did they really need to put him in a number 7 jersey - no way to not have that in the shot?
And do they really need to put a poster up that large outside of your arena?
Look, we can win - look at our huge poster of you!
Capela the rookie is assigned no. 15 which was Melo's number prior to joining the knicks. Thats Monroes retired number.
They could have just have used that.
Distasteful. Unprofessional and unprovoked dig at their own team.
Wow - what a franchise. These guys and Melo deserve each other.

I was thinking the same. Remember Melo was making a big stink about using 15 when he first got here.
Houston as a whole has issues with New York/New Yorkers. It would not surprised me if the owner and Morey have it in for he Knicks. Going back to Morey screwing the Knicks with the poison pill for Lin. It pained them to see a guy they waived months prior succeeding on the world stage.

clearly you just got here. Before he was all hot for Melo Morey was the greatest GM ever. Now he rolls out the red carpet for Melo and he's classless, useless, etc etc etc
Pretty funny

ClutchFans is a really good site. I checked over there to see what was being said about all of this. One guy posted three other players that had this done to them when big names came to visit like Howard and Melo. I agree that it was in poor taste but apparently it is how Morey handles his business. I think it was in the media because of who it was done to and how he handled it.

Wonder if Phil will get crucified if he resigns Melo and gives him a penny over 14mil
? I have the feeling that Phil will probably be exempt and Melo will be blamed for forcing Phils hand....

What makes this even more stupid is that Melo doesn't even take #7 in Houston if #15 is available...
You're a real visionary, Daryl.

Yeah, and use a bible verse about turning the other cheek while not turning the other cheek.
Oh wait, "when someone hits you on the left cheek, broadcast the gross indignity to the world and then..."

agree... Im actually a member I just never post there. Here is the only place I bother. That being said Lin is their Melo. He's got an luny following there and any knock on his game results in quite the reaction. He's certainly unique and a bit polarizing himself. Not for that money but I would take him back here if the price was right. Plays hard and plays team

well in the spacecity report, he says melo wanted the number, but thats truely besides the point. Thats why they get clowns like Howard to sign there.
They waived lin and a yr letter they pay him 25 million, thats like buying the product thatwas on SALE yesterday and now it's back to the full price or more.
If a FA is not looking at that as tell tell sign that this franchise is run by idiots and non loyal ppl, he's blind and dumb (howard cough cough!!) and derserves to be there.
The rockets are by far one of the top 5 worst defensive team in the NBA, so they court a guy who plays mediocre D and shoots the ball at a high volume.
Something tells me that Melo is laughing and enjoying this tour knowing he's not going anywhere

he is an excellent gm in terms of taking advantage of dumbasses like the knicks in trades.
what the hell does that have to do with his social skills? he's still a great gm.
here's what morey actually said in the article:
"It’s always a challenging situation during free agency,” Morey said. “You are always having to recruit players and there might be current players at current positions, might be people with the current numbers. It’s unfortunate that it’s often hard to handle. Reality is, it’s standard practice. When we went after Chris Bosh a few years ago,we had him in Luis Scola’s number. When we went after Dwight Howard he had (Pat) Beverley’s number. I get the sensitivity and I hate that it creates some hurt feelings. I don’t like that, but that’s obviously Carmelo Anthony’s number, that’s the number he wants. He told us that. Bottom line, if Carmelo comes Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin have to be traded. It’s just math. It’s not personal. My job is every day figure out how to win. Sometimes it creates challenging situations."
perfectly transparent, matter of fact.
