a few names out there...
with Melo off the payroll, can we afford any of the bigger names?
I guess it depends on what else happens. If the Knicks don't make any more moves they might just go with Cleanthony or Shump.
Gerald Wallace! Swap Amare for him get undr the cap, sign Monroe to an offer sheet!
I'm not familiar with Deng's game. Would he work in the triangle? He seems to be playing the waiting game, which makes me curious

or Jeff Green...we have options if we're willing to do some thangs...maybe a Bargnani deal instead
Without Melo our cap number is $59M. We won't know the final cap numbers until 7/10 but if we are under the cap it's only by a few million. I don't think we could swap Amare for Wallace straight up, Boston would probably have to send back more money to make the contracts work but, again, that depends on the final cap number. More importantly, what is Boston giving us to take Wallace off their hands?

Boston is under the cap by 15mil they could make he trade straight up and still be under the cap by 2mil.

We don't know how far below the cap Boston is because the salary cap number hasn't been released yet. And their current cap number doesn't include their draft picks.
Gotta go with Cleanthony Early first. I guess he'd be the front-runner. 6'9" 220 Devin Ebanks and 6'8" 220 DeQuan Jones are 2 other guys I really like at the SF position. Up to me, both guys would've been on our SL roster.
Develop Cleanthony Early. Get him experience on a team that is clearly rebuilding after losing Melo. If he blows
Up, great. If not, great. Either way we land a high lotto pick in 2015 to go along with all that cap space.

Definitely a great option.
Our summer league starting line up is going to be Jeremy Tyler, Early, Cole Alrich, Larkin and THJr.... That could be our future starting line up on the big team.
That's why we can't get angry and so doom and gloom with our team. We are set to go either way with or without Melo.
Lin
Fields/Iman
Novak
JJ
Chandler
Who was the BIG 3?

Why was our BIG 3 failing that year when our SMALL 3 lead to LINSANITY

Every guy on that list has either been traded or their team wants to dump them except for Jeffries.

And so has
ZBO
Jamal Crawford
Bledsoe
Darren Collison
Gereld Green
Miles Plumlee
Pau Gasol
Marc Gasol
Channing Frye
Jordan Hill
Josh McRoberts
Vucevic (Orlando/Philly)
You are missing the point, BIG NAMES's doesn't necessarily translates to good/great team, though it would be nice with the right combination of players
While assembly a team, it would be nice, The Sun's played terrific last season despite their injuries and having the most efficient roster in terms of $/Win SHARES

You are right in regards to being able to win some without big names. But you have to look at the schedule and who the Knicks played for those seven games. Aside from the lakers, those were all games against bad teams.

Not particularly impressed with the rest of the roster we assembled, but yeah I agree, those 5 make up a standout unit together, even though I'm not as high on Tyler as most are.
JR will be our first option on offense
Or would Phil just not tolerate that ?

Look at the numbers in the article!
Lebron: 27.1 PPG, 6.7 Rebounds
Carmelo: 27.8 PPG, 8.1 rebounds.
