Only if he goes back to this look

you mean he'll lose 25 pounds?
Absolutely want him back. I'd like him to take a hair less maybe something like 5 years 110mm?? so we can go to free agency next year.
Also Id rather pay him than lose him for nothing. It would give me leverage at the end of the year if things did not go better and he wanted out--then I could trad e him with strength. Best case scenario is we get him back and we move to that 54+ win level from 2 years ago with better help.

LOL its either that or he's a fan of the mustache
I think he's a good player to have if Phil Jackson can Zen him to life,
23 points per game first season with new staff, over /under?
Over...but maybe he gets another 1.5 assists per game? One can dream.
$100 million per for 5 years MAX, not a penny more. If that's not enough for him, he's not serious about winning.

This.. And the Dallas trade already gets us close, and there will be more. Let's see how Phil and Fisher get the most from him.

Other than lotsa cap space for people who aren't coming here and a lottery lock season, what do we get for letting him walk for nothing? Other than twice as many tkf and dtkf posts?
What do we get for keeping him? A .450 team with $30 mil less in cap space?

no you get the team you had 2 years ago, for starters
we need melo. people think players like him grow on trees... it'll be a long time before we get someone else of carmelo's talent in here if he does leave.

(No No No No No No No No) * 28.4 * 3.4 * 1.2
That's 8 no's, times 28.4 points, times 3.4 assists times 1.2 steals.
Players like Melo can be found anywhere for probably less than subway fare. Those trees are everywhere.

Ive asked this a few times does anybody know if he gets a no trade clause in this contract. You have to play 4 years on the same team and 8 years in the NBA. Does his traded season count? I think this is a big deal, if we can trade him anywhere without his permission

Carmelos scoring talent I agree with but overall game I disagree.

Its not the next two years I'm worried about - its the Melo we'll have on our roster in years 3,4 & 5.
I'm just worried that with 2 bum shoulders and a million minutes under his belt already, he'll start to break down, similar to Amar'e.
Of course, Melo might just be cut from different clothe, and he might be effective all the way through.
Its just if I were betting with my own money, I wouldn't.

Only if you go out and grab 5 or 6 great role players, but we're in a much better situation if we do that regardless of what happens with Melo.
Prior to this offseason everyone was saying he wasn't worth the cash. I would prefer him taking less money so we can get better players. But let's be real here - he is the prize of this year's FA class. Everyoen already pitched LBJ last time. Melo is the belle of the ball this year. Yes, I want him back.

Who were our five/six "great" role players that year?
JR I guess and Kidd for part of the season. Who else?
