Well it shows an all around game--scoring passing rebounding and defense with the ability to hit 3's.

The numbers indicate that he is not a one dimensional player.

Look at some of the clips of his corner 3's. He has solid form with a good arch on his shot. The consistency will come- he does not have a broken jumper that needs "therapy."

If he can hit his jumpers and play the kind of D he seems to be able to play, he should be with the team this year, if he shows something in the Summer League and training camp.

When you see him interviewed you see that he is humble and understands the importance of working on his game. I was impressed by the fact that he actually thought before he answered questions, and did not give a typical "canned" answer.

Could be a breath of fresh air on the team if he has any kind of early success.

That is great. I didn't see that player when I watched him. I think I read somewhere that the plan was for him to play a year in Europe and join the Knicks the following year.

Makes sense. Our roster is already mucked up and there's no need to bring in two rookies who play the same position. Let Thanks resume his reign of terror in Greece before he comes back.

I thought he was playing in the NBDL last year, not Greece.

He played in Greece, then played in the NBDL this year to be closer to his brother and improve his draft stock. I think the Knicks plan on sending him to Greece or somewhere else in Europe to stash.

Those stats remind me of an upgraded Balkman in college. The D-League is a step up from there.
I'm curious to see how he does in summer league. He is quite clearly still having upside.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the info.

Is it possible to stash players in the d league or do they have to be on payroll or the big league roster concurrently?

He can probably make more in Europe, but it's probably better for his development to stay here. After seeing what happened to Pierre Jackson, I'd advise him to go to Europe.

Shumpert had better up his game. You're looking at his replacement.

Maybe this is exactly what Phil and his team noticed and the reason we drafted him over some other guys that were still available at that point??
