Days before Tyson Chandler was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in a six-player trade that also saw the Knicks net two second round draft picks that turned into Cleanthony Early and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Jackson turned down the proposed Bargani trade, the source says.

According to the source, Jackson believes that he can find a taker for Bargnani and his salary without sacrificing Hardaway Jr., despite the fact that Bargnani has appeared in just 118 games over the past three seasons. Bargnani has one year and $11.5 million remaining on his current contract.

As it stands, Jackson is believed to not only be actively shopping Stoudemire, but Bargnani, as well.

The end game, according to the source, is jettisoning their combined $34.9 million salaries off of the Knicks’ 2014-15 ledger, potentially making the Knicks a late entrant into this summer’s free agency marketplace.

Not unless PJax had a wink and nod from Lebron, with a blood-brother handshake to seal the deal.

But if we're assured of landing Lebron, then hell yes, THjr, Shump and anyone else on the roster can get packaged with Stat, Bargs and JR to rid us of any/all bad deals.

Melo + Lebron is seriously insane to imagine and impossible to defend.

Only if Lebron say's he will come - otherwise - no reason to.

If Chris Bosh is really in play, I'd be willing to "settle" for him if LeBron goes elsewhere. But I find it hard to believe that someone would take both Amar'e and/or Bargnani whole, even with the assets we'd have.

this feels more like tag team professional wrestling. it's a tad ugly

Heck id do it to sign 2 of stephenson, bledsoe, thomas, or Parsons. If Phil really thinks he can unload Bargs without unloading THJR then he must be waiting for Aug 28 with he can unload Larkin and co.

Does it involve chopping their heads off at the alter of the King? Then no.

Definitely for LeBron.

How'd this work out for us last time?
Knicksfan @ 7/7/2014 5:45 PM
Trading the kids away for "The King" is so 2010.

"The King" didn't want us then, he doesn't want us now.

Move on.

Broussard said LeBron tried to get bosh to go to Cleveland first and went two Miami when he wouldn't come.

This time we have Melo's rights, instead of hoping for player two.

I definitely would because it sounds like LBJ would really like to team up with Melo....so why not in NY??? Our owner would never pull the rug from under LBJ's supporting cast because of the Luxury tax.

I think Lebron is heading home to Cleveland. Good for him. Maybe we keep Melo. Better for everyone if the Miami trio split up.

Anyone have Miami's draft pick next year? Could be a good one!

If Bosh & Lebron leave, can Wade even play 60 games?

Who will contribute more next season, in this scenario, Wade or Amar'e?

Wade or Amare? That is too funny.
