I'd hope we'd be able to engage in a S+T for Ennis Napier and a 2016 # 1. The one worst case scenario is we end up with nada.
...I might stop watching the NBA. Please just go west if you leave us. FAR WEST. Not Chicago lol
I hope he goes to Miami so I can hate him even more
Hating him feels more right to me than loving him
I wish he would try to force his way to Golden State they have players I want

did you tkf and dk have a sleepover last night?
this is what we concluded:
1) if melo leaves he becomes someone else's problem and knicks fans like me win-- culture change at msg prevails and we finally get a fresh start again after the walsh squad was unjustly aborted
2) if melo stays then he will simply confirm he wants money more than winning-- melo fans get their man but they and melo are exposed and the knicks remain mediocre
3) if melo stays for a deep discount and jackson swings a deal where lebron comes here then we all win

Option 3 would be the best thing Melo could do. Take less money and show your loyalty to the team and show you want the Knicks to win moe than a fw extra million that you make from endorsements and stuff anyway.

i don't care either way, but why would option 3 be best for melo? why should he give a "deep discount" and leave all that money on the table? so fans think he's a better guy? would you give your place of employment a "deep discount" to keep your services?

I think it was more a menage a trois

First of all WE did not conclude this. I think the most reasonable option is
4) Melo stays, give us a discount ( not deep) especially in yrs 2 and 3 when we have open cap space to sign another max and some nice complementary chips to hopefully compete for the championship again.

Dk always has Melo losing at least 30 million if he has character and is about winning. If he doesn't lose at least 30 million he is a low character villain.

lol it's pathetic. im sure dk would give up 30million in a heartbeat just like he's asking melo to do.

I can live with that but I don't think Melo will sign here for anything less than max knowing its going to be a few years before he can contend. Lakers are in the same boat but it's LA, less pressure from the media, sunny, Kobe, Lala etc

so you prefer to root for melo more than the knicks. kooky
the answer is so he can win here in new york. he said he wants to win so this is what he has to do. can't expect jackson to scramble to assemble somthing, he has bigger fish to fry, such as building a champion. that starts with sacrifice, which is clearly not in melo's repertoire.
however, the precedents have been set to the degree that he will look really bad if he doesn't.
simple!

that way lies mediocrity!

melo doesn't "lose" 30 million he gains a great deal of equity in new york city, equity that he has been blithely squandering since he has been here.
and it's more like 50 million... i see what you did there

How about rooting against the Knicks so Melo looks bad. A bit more kooky in my opinion. Knicks weren't worth your time and were 'fools gold' during the 54 win season.
