I'm actually more disappointed in him, having watched that video. He's playing against no-name's and was working damn hard to try and assert his will on the game. We need to get value for him before he gets Landry Fields'd.
yellowboy90 @ 7/8/2014 1:30 PM
send this vid to Philly ASAP.
Anji @ 7/8/2014 1:30 PM
I know I'm down on shump, but man why does he look an average nba player even in his highlight vid??? Half of your highlights were jumpshots and blocks Shumps, really against all bums???

I watch alot of those vids and compared to others, i'm not impressed.

Caseloads @ 7/8/2014 1:34 PM
looks good in the vid. it's not his fault the comp is lower than nba talent
Allanfan20 @ 7/8/2014 2:16 PM
He looked pretty dominant to me. Not sure if we watched the same video. With that said, this video shows nothing other than the fact that Shumpert looks healthy and active, which is lovely. We will know nothing about his basketball ability until opening night.
NYKBocker @ 7/8/2014 2:30 PM
It would be cool if Shump and Lin end up with the Sixers.
EnySpree @ 7/8/2014 3:06 PM
He's not all of a sudden come in and be this complete player. He's not going to all of a sudden stay doing what he hasn't done his whole career.
Nalod @ 7/8/2014 3:19 PM
The hair is back? The gold shoes are back!!!

Get this kid now!!!!

anrst @ 7/8/2014 3:21 PM
doesn't really tell us anything we don't know
IronWillGiroud @ 7/8/2014 3:35 PM
feels like it was just yesterday we were comparing him to a jordan-lite, now he is bum-heavy
newyorknewyork @ 7/8/2014 3:48 PM
Looks like the handle got a little better. And there are zero effects from his previous injury.

yea, zero effects if you don't count the 2 years of stagnation

Agreed

You guys are just too f'ng much. There's nothing wrong with how he looks in the damn video. Shump is a talented kid that hasn't had a clean shot to develop. There's been injury and team issues that have IMO stunted his growth, but he's still capable of reaching his full potential. You've all seen the level he can take his game to when he flashed here and there, but maybe this year he puts it all together and gains that consistency we've been waiting for. Doesn't mean he's gonna be some star, but he can be a very impactful player and I hope he does that here in NY. He may be traded. Who knows.

From what i've been seeing of him in videos this summer, he looks like his handle is much more confident and tighter. He's more confident and decisive in his pull up jumpers and quicker with the ball. I think if you already don't like him it's easy to try and make it seem like he's no good, but I think you're bias is effecting your vision and scouting ability. Impatience is another issue for many Knick fans. If a player doesn't show right away he's a bum. Grow the F up. It doesn't always work that way.

First summer he's had to actually work on his game since he was a rookie- I haven't given up on him yet!

Me neither. I actually have a decent amount of hope for him in this coming season. His talent and physical ability is there. He does need to be more consistent finding the bucket but he deserves a lot more opportunities too.

Ball handling and footwork would do wonders for his game, fortunately things Phil believes are important.

I'm absolutely positive that Phil gave him a prescription for what he wanted to see Shump improve over the summer. At least we know Shump is gonna put in the work. With Phil and Fish here looking to bring more defense and energy to the team I see Shump fitting right in and the Triangle is a better fit for his skills as well.

Post game wouldn't hurt either.
