Question- With many thinking that James will be going to the Cavs, is there any reason to believe that Anthony might look at this and believe that his best chance for a title would be the Bulls, even if he had to take less $$?

Just wondering why somebody would talk to SAS about Anthony to Chicago being a possibility shortly after the James to Cleveland scenario became more probable. Maybe Anthony thinks that if the Cavs get James Chicago has the best chance to get out of the East while Cleveland is still taking shape as a team.

Just trying to look at the sequence of the reports that have been coming out and what it means.

Until Chicago can offer Melo a max deal he isnt going anywhere. No way in hell Melo leaves 55 million on the table it goes against everything he has been his entire career

A max deal, or a sweet sign and trade deal for us. If Melo wants Chicago, I'm positive Phil would accommodate him for the right price.

what does chicago have anymore Id take their euro, they wasted their 2 firsts on Doug Mcdermott

Future draft picks, the guys they picked this year, the euro, a large trade exception, and filler contracts that expire.

Phil will not be accommodating Melo and the bulls, for what?

If we don't do a trade with the bulls, then he goes to the lakers, where there's no shot in hell that he wins a ring there before kobe retires. Taking a pay to play for the bulls who will have to rid themselves of all role players, a suspect rose, and a sometimish Gibson.. How can the bulls be the favorite with 3 stars and half ass role players

Jesus Christ, when will this stuff end- just announce your damn decision Melo! We hall know you're coming back!

In the meantime, just to pass the time would you prefer:

1) Melo
2) a trade of Melo to the Cavs for Wiggins and assorted stuff like picks or Bennett
3) A three way in which we got Kevin Love, Cavs got Melo and Twolves got Wiggins

I never had a three way. I'd go there!!

Phil said he is optimistic and felt he connected with melo, but hasn't heard anything. He said he texted melo since but hasn't had a response. I don't get the secrecy of Melo and Lebron etc, it just seems odd.

Also: he has 5 different contracts for Melo to choose from, and he presented them all to him to choose from.

He is hopeful about Pau Gasol, but knows its a longshot

Plus the Bulls have a good culture. As the main thing we need to do is establish a good, hardworking, defensive minded culture, Bulls players would help us do that.

I thought phil was on the phones trying to dump amare and bargs, to make room for melo and pau

after melo signs with us for the max, does he become virtually untradable? what team would even be able to take that salary on?

Joe Johnson has a horrible contract and he was traded.

I would say he's traceable definitely in the first year of that contract (and you could get a good return), maybe the second- after that he becomes Joe Johnson's contract, though even that got traded eventually (though it means you're the one giving up something to get rid of it).
