Yeah he seemed like a perfect fit for NY ever since the beginning. Can play PF and C and is a no-nonsense guy.

What r u talking about? The greek is a player and an incredible athlete. The greek may not start in the league next year but he will play in the NBA and make an impact for 10 yrs. I remember u hated David Lee pick also initially, said he was a bit role player. Talk about know it alls. Need to have a vision how someone will improve with time and coaching..

Off base here as the Than the Man is proving to have been an excellent pick. High upside/athleticism/perimeter defense. I think you could make an argument for Young over Labyrie. But once he went undrafted, why did we not lock him up to the SL team or to a small deal?

I agree about the Greek, we've seen a million uber-athletic, low-skilled players flame out in the NBA; we don't know anything about the French guy so I would wait before disregarding him. Definitely want to pick up Young, definitely see him at least being 15-20 mpg role player.

We will regret not taking one of stokes Jefferson or young. Next year when amare bargs and salem art become fa and we have only cole signed. We will look back and say we should've gone that route. We don't need 7wing players. It's too much

The Knicks didn't have to take the obscure 22 year old euro. Pretty sure Fraschilla didn't even know who the guy was. Why not take Young there.
I think Phil does in fact sign someone. After acknowledging the league has gone small, He said he believes in having size to compete in this league. He cut Lamar and looks like Tyler might not make it. We lost our bid for Gasol too. So we are in the market for a big man
Had anyone thought that maybe Patrick young doesn't want to play for the knicks?

We only have so many roster spots and too many guaranteed deals. The Greek can be stashed to be developed on someone else's dime. Young is tough, but our scouts had good long look at him and they passed him over along with every other team in the League. Maybe they didn't think he could pick up the triangle? Passing and ballhandling aren't strengths for Young.
Young is on the Pelican's summer league roster. He's ripe for the plucking with the Asik trade pending. No training camp invite has been announced.
I thought we really liked this guy and he is just sitting there and now we are talking about signing Booker?
I get that booker can shoot the midrange a bit, but Young is a beast. Not much to lose just throwing him out there here and there.
Him and the Greek guy would give us some great energy off the bench (eventually).

You know what - the reality is we worked this guy out a couple times and we passed on him times in the NBA draft. I'd say lets trust our scouts. Its obvious we want size, but we still didn't value this guy.

Not sure he has the offensive skills Phil is looking for in terms of a midrange game or at the foul line. Have not seen him play in SL. Any consistency on his jumpers or foul shooting? Has not had an assist yet, and I expect most of his points come from put-ins/dunks.
As some have said, if they had wanted him they could have had him with the pick we got at 57. We did our due diligence in looking at him.
Of course he may become Ben Wallace II, but then a lot of teams will regret not drafting him.
Good guy for NO to have an enforcer, though, if the reports of him getting signed are true.
I think Phil wants that midrange jumper from his bigs... makes me think that KMart is only going to be signed as a last resort.
