he may also play some 3 for us.
Phil talked about Shump's d during the summer league broadcast. I think he wants him on the team.
Phil said today that Shumpert is the only guy on the team that plays defense, so my guess is we are keeping him.

yeah i just caught a little of that. hard to know what phil is thinking is what he' saying. shump not much of a shooter for the triangle, but i think he has to get a shot to prove himself before or if we sell. his value can go up if you ask me. new coach has a good chance of helping because he and woody did not seem to be a good match last year.

yeah, it was an interesting comment. saying that he has to overplay and then collects fouls as a result (or did phil say others collect fouls?)
Shump would play a bit of that Ron Harper role for the Knicks.

you think the knicks would be in for him and another year of his deal?
hmm. more guards too?
we need a legit athletic 3 with some size who can defend and shoot more.
asking a lot? maybe, but sure would be nice.

interesting comparison. funny because harper was not that great of a shooter either. bad shooter in general from the floor.
i am thinking jr may be most likely to go but you would think we will need his scoring.

I dunno. JR is a great ball handler. Low turnover rate. A pretty good spot up shooter. IF he buys into the triangle it might give him the discipline he needs. He does everything on the floor well- he just doesn't do it all the time. He is great "if' here.

Harper was a great athlete early in his career and a 20 pt scorer. In the triangle he stepped aside and became a total role player. Was the de facto PG for the Bulls. Really he made it hard to contend with the size in the Bulls backcourt and played more of a defensive role. Left and played the same role for the Lakers.

Interesting. Getting joe and then cap space for Durant's free agency is intriguing. I don't think the Knicks can count on the free agency classn of 2015.

As we know the only guy going to be available is Marc Gasol. Aldridge said he wants to resign, Rondo can't shoot but he might end up in Boston again anyway. Love is gone, his team took his advertising down already....Phil keeps talking about the next off season with a subtle hint that he might not have the money if something great comes up for the Knicks.... We'll see what happens
After hearing Phil talk about Shump, I'll stop talking smack about him. I still don't want him around though. He's given praise to wellington, Shannon, and Murry too....Murry was waived and now it looks like 2 guys are outta here soon so you never know. I think Phil will do what's best for us. So far so good

For who?
Sorry. Kevin Love.
LOL every team in the NBA could top that ooffer ,they might get Wiggins for Love
if phil and his coaching staff can reach through to shumpert, then great, let's keep him. when i look at shumpert though, i see a guy who hasn't only failed to improve in his time in the nba, he's actually regressed. and he's had already had 2 knee surgeries. it's kinda now or never with shump, i think. so might as well keep him and see what phil's guys can do with him.
i am definitely against shipping out JR. he's a knucklehead, but he plays hard and his game is tailor-made for the triangle. he can ball-handle, he can shoot both mid and long range and is an able passer when he wants to be. as long as the coaching staff keeps him focused, i think he surprised alot of people this year.

Jr is 1 of the few players that can defend , Hardaway looks like Melo is having a bad influence on him , he looks like a chucker in the summer league
