From yesterday's "Buckets over Broadway"
http://bucketsoverbroadway.com/2014/07/1...
A one David Pick, associated with Marc Stein, is saying that Casspi might be interested in the Knicks.
Don't know if this is just his agent putting it out for leverage purposes, something we are used to.
Remember, though, he's from Israel- I assume that he would feel happy in a NYC community that has a large Jewish contingent- largest in the world, I think.
A nice 15+ mpg rotation player. He's is a team first guy who can play defense, move on offense, and can hit the 3. Another long/lanky guy. I've always liked him. I think he needs regular minutes to be at his best.
Knicks would have to get rid of a contract to take him.
Any thoughts on this guy, or are we just too crowded at this point?

he's a good fit for the triangle.
He is going to have to clear waivers first.
He almost always managed career nights against us.
I would pass. He is not that good of a shooter, defender, passer but he does rebound well enough.
Know him since he was 16 (originally from Israel)
Don't touch him, he is not putting any effort at summer time, never improving
Only for the veteran minimum. Not that we can pay him more than that anyway.
I'd rather see the time go to Early.
I would pass on Casspi. He is not tall enough for PF and we have an abundance of wing players.
Not a bad player but I'd pass. If we're looking for a cheap backup SF for one reason or another (more depth, we wind up moving Thanasis or Early for something else that made sense, etc.), Devin Ebanks or DeQuan Jones would be my choices. Ebanks is bigger and a better scorer and Jones is a much better athlete and surprisingly skilled -- both guys have better upside over Casspi. I'd argue with a straight face that both of these guys have better upside than Greek 2 and Early..
Forget Casspi. Concentrate on getting this dude Ilyasova.

Interesting. Insider info?
Well, not that of an insider, I am an Israeli(currently lives in the US), so I'm familiar with all Basketball prospects, contrary to Caspi, Gal Mekel from the Mavs is a heck of a PG, and when J Tyler played in Israel, he was a big promise that didn't deliver(i like him)
A couple of yrs ago I post a Cavs Vs somebody Game day thread, and The cavs fans ripped Casspi a new one, they wanted that guy gone so bad, not one single fan was in his favor. Talk about a player who has one good game every 8 games..

Would explain a lot. I remember thinking this guy was close to Hallo during their rookie seasons. But Casspi's game has pretty much stayed the same since then. Still, he's a solid value at the vets minimum.
Casspi, who asked me?
Bring this guy in he's a tall guy that can shoot, i don't care if he hasn't improved, he'll drop the buckets for you with a cool hand, you can't teach height

Assume Hallo is "Gallo."
Yeah, I thought of them together, too. Actually saw some clips where their teams played each other in Europe.
Don't get to see him much. Look at his stat line, now and then. He did have a few good games against us, and that is probably why I think of his game the way I do.
I thought he would have progressed as a player by now, Hasn't put on any weight, and he might be the same player he was when he came up. 3 pt shooting has been stagnant, and that, along with his hustle, was his ticket to get some minutes on the floor.
