I'm not worried about our scoring. I'm very curious to see what the defensive approach will be with Jose in there. The way they had them playing in SL was pretty solid. But those young guys are pretty active whereas Jose won't be as aggressive jumping the screens the way Larkin did. In the end tho if this team is as efficient as I think it will be, that will be an approach of trying to outscore teams with only timely defense, with certain units on the floor. We'll likely have some units that can really get after it defensively. I doubt that will be the starting unit.

After last season where the only player who could score was Melo, I would be worrying about scoring just as much as defense. The first two months of the season JR and STAT put up a full season worth of bricks.

That was an aberration. The players we have are career scorers and i'd expect them to return to the mean. In this system which enhances the skills of the players we have i'd expect a good scoring team. Just replacing Felton and Tyson with players that fit this system will be huge. All of our bigs can shoot. We have far more skilled offensive players than before. With a legit system like the Triangle this team should be more team oriented and efficient.

I agree. I'm tempted to start JR if he's still here, but I realize that we really need someone to pressure the opposing point guards. I could live with Shump in the starting lineup but he really needs to find his range.

jose calderon? still a top 15 point guard in the league, maybe top 10,

this guy can dish the rock for you, he'll shoot the rock, he'll drop buckets all over the place

jason kidd dished dimes into his 50s, calderon is only like mid 30

IronWillGiroud @ 7/23/2014 8:01 PM
dude calderon is only 32, played 81 games (by far his highest total since 2008) and stole 1 a game last year and gave you 2.4 treys on 45%!!!!

we got an elite point guard here why is no one talking about this?

calderon alone puts you over 50 wins next year, YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST

I think this team will be horrible defensively. On offense we should be good, I mean if the summerleague team was able to put together games like that.
