he wants max money. He's not as good as Lowry and wants to be paid like Chris Paul. He's a good player but his #1 priority is getting paid.
Perhaps we should stay away from players like that
Well, he wants max money but nobody is giving it to him. If he has the choice between a sign and trade deal or going back to PHO for their qualifying offer he may take less than max. Who knows. I agree he isnt worth the max, no way.

So to me there is a move to be made....
Everyone is so disgustingly negative towards the opportunities that we have to make any deals.....I agree that we have no shot at Love and Rondo. Lamarcus and Marc Gasol are also pipe dreams.....but we actually do have a decent shot at players like Bledsoe, Monroe and players in that tier. It only takes some great imagination and a realistic look into why another team would make a trade with us.
That Tyson/Felton to Dallas trade was fantastic....we talked about Tyson to Dallas but had no idea we could drop Felton on them in the same deal and get so much back.
So the question is are we prepping for another trade? We have assets....not to get the top names on the market, but the second tier. Who is potentially out there? Who are you looking at? What team out there is in need of some guard help? Can we make a lateral trade to help things out?
Can you explain why M.Gasol and L.Aldridge are pipe dreams?? Everyone just automatically thinks Lamarcus is gonna stay in Portland but doesn't anyone thinks it's odd for someone to turn down a max contract to play out his final contract year and risk injury?? Why not just sign the max contract if you're so sure that you're staying??

Josh falls into that 2nd tier player...he's what we expect Melo to do when he plays the 4 except Josh Smith is supposed to play like a 4 cuz that's his game...he's not a 3, just like Melo isn't a 4....both players can play both spots but they excel in their natural role. I think it would be a seemless partnership.
If the Knicks could get Josh Smith and Eric Bledsoe added to a starting 5 with Melo, Calderon and a serviceable center...that would be interesting
There's no way we'll get either one of those two and i would never want Josh Smith on the Knciks.

Any ideas Bocker? I got my jergens ready
Not really, but anything that ships JR out of Knickland would be awesome. Jergens? You cheap bastard.

That's cool....any bright ideas?

Aldrige has said he will resign. Why or to what end I dont know. As for Gasol for the max I cant think of anything worse. He's too big and too slow and too old. Anyone who pretends that Melo's shoulders might play a factor in the value of his contract should be terrified of Marc Gasol. He's such a plodder and missed a lot of games last year.
If Kevin Love is a free agent next year there are rumors that the Lakers and Knicks are favorites to sign him outright.
If the Knicks have a better season/playoffs than the Lakers I like the Knicks chances of signing Love.
Personally I would rather have Aldridge, but either would make the Knicks instant contenders.
I would be quite upset if we spent anywhere close to max money on Aldridge.
