He's not coming here....That can be debated that's why I didn't put OT in the title.
I think he goes to the Wizards. Melo went back "home". LeBron went back home. Rose is home. D Wade made his home away from home his home in miami. Kobe stayed a laker his whole career even when it looks bad for him the next 2 years. Durant could stay in okc for these reasons....or he can return to the DC area where he came up and play for the wizards.
The wizards actually will have a great opportunity to sign him straight up. They will lose nene, Paul pierce, miller, and serephin all before then. They have youth in the pipeline to sustain them without spending money.
Humphries
Durant
Gortat
Wall
Beal
that's a fantastic starting 5
all this stuff about the Fisher having influence is laughable almost when you look at that potential lineup.
besides Melo plays the same position as Durant and will be 32 just about when Durant is available.
I'm actually excited for the wizards the next few years anyway, but Durant possibly going home would be electric for them and the league.

I agree about the Wizards. After all the rough years they finally look like a team on the rise. Adding Durant would make them a instant contender
Yeah I think Durant is feeling the home cookin more and more.
He's not a big city guy but he likes to feel real comfortable wherever he's at
I wouldn't rule out the Clippers either if the cap skyrockets.
........and his agent is Jay-z.
Lebron came home, Melo lived here until he was 8. He has his "WB" tattoo. He didn't go home. La La came home.
Who knows what will happen, he has two years left on his contract and he is being asked by media and has to say something.
Besides Fish, we hired Durants main assistant coach that he was very tight with.
There are logical scenarios that could lead to a path in a knick uniform but these things are always longshots. BirdRights are serious money.
Ever since John Wall was drafted (my kids' favorite player) they have become Wizzy fans. It's all I can do to get them to still consider the Knicks a "favorite" team. They are ballers, so they dislike the Knicks because they can't stand Melo-ball, iso-mania.
Hopefully the Triangle will help pull them back a bit closer to home. But if Durant joins Wall in DC, fuhgettaboudit. I'm not gwine even try to keep them in Knicks jerseys. Ugh.
I can see Durant going home to DC
When is Anthony Davis available? He will sign his first huge contract with New Orleans so it's a mute point anyway
If we are lucky we walk away with Marc Gasol and pray we have enough

IMO, his current starting 5 is better.

You must be joking! uh ... right?
The only thing is Wizards might have to trade some of those pieces for Durant and multiple first rounders

unless he does the "right" thing and waits for FA so that his team can retain all their assets. Most stars do this.

Oh right "Most"
Some are either dumb or out for themselves.

Which stars did this? Didn't Miami lose a ton of draft picks when Lebron went to Miami? I think it was this:
-A 2011 second-round pick
-A large trade exception
-The option to swap 2012 first-round picks
-A 2012 second-round pick
-A 2013 first-round pick
-A future first-round pick that's top-10 protected in 2015 and 2016 and unprotected in 2017 if it doesn't convey by then.
So Cleveland fans hated him for leaving for taking the easy way to winning championships. Now Miami fans hate him for leaving and costing them all those picks?

I'm pretty sure that just by his latest comments and statements from his old coaches shows that he'll either stay in Okl City or go to Wash and that will be his only two options.
I think we have a better shot at Landing Steph Curry or Anthony Davis over Durant. I see no ay we can get Durant. I think Gasol is a possibility because we will be grossly over paying with a Max deal
Stephen Curry would be amazing. If we can get him and marc gasol or Davis? Wow
Wait that doesn't work cos Melo took $124m
Melo getting paid in no way affects our ability to sign a Max contract next year.
Even if we did sign a max contract next year, and we did not resign Shumpert we might actually be able to sign another Max contract or close to it the following year.
It is just like Phil Jackson predicted in his book after the new CBA.
The new NBA landscape will be long term contracts for stars and 1 or 2 year contracts for everyone else.
i agree. i can see KD staying in OKC or going home to DC
I can see what the Media tells me.

I didn't know baltimore had a basketball team...
