What I wanna know -- could we have offered a similar deal using that trade exception?

No, teams can't sign players using trade exceptions. Trade exceptions can only be used in trades.

I wondered the same and copy and pasted the title into Google.

He was restricted though, so I would never get my hopes up there...

Scott is a decent back up and I think ATL got fair value for what he does. It's nothing to get upset about though. Players like Scott come around pretty often.

He kinda is, he has a smooth flow to his game.

Nothing seems forced, he reminds me of JJ Ice Fish though

RonRon @ 8/3/2014 10:47 PM
He has more skills than Novak and could shoot just as well if utlized correctly and is still young/developing...

Though isnt as skilled and versatile as Danny Green

Yeah, I'm going to have to disagree with this emphatically. Shoot just as well? What are you basing this on because it is not even close.

I see something in between the Morris brothers -- similar size & game as Marcus but not quite as elusive off the dribble (skill-set might be closer to Markieff only he's not as big). He also reminds me of Channing Frye -- not as big obviously but in the sense that he didn't really come into the NBA with a 3-pt shot--it's being developed into a real weapon on the fly after he turned pro. He's tougher than Frye though..
