The majority of the disappointment in Melo's deal came from the fact that we don't believe it will be realistically possible to build a contender around Melo considering the salary cap ramifications, our lack of assets, and Melo's age.
The Love contract is a completely different situation. He's going to a team that's already better than the Knicks. He's younger than Melo and probably better. And his contract won't be an albatross when it's ending.
