I think Fish/Rambis is an upgrade over Woodson. I think when you factor in the support of management it is a tremendous upgrade over Woodson. I think the roster got better. I think the Knicks needed to get something for an expiring Tyson. I also think Tyson was a big part of the problem last year. Moving Felton with him and turning that into Dalembert, Jose, Larkin, Early, Thanasis, Acy, and Outlaw was a big upgrade of the roster and should help to contribute to a change in the culture. I think that JR and Shump should both be improved a year removed from surgery.CrushAlot wrote:fishmike wrote:Agree. Seven out of the 15 guys on the roster were not there last year. I think it's just as easy to say that the Knicks have a lot of the very same players and that for the 1st time in a while they have good leadership and a system that will organize that talent to operate at its best. IMO this team was hampered last year by so many things. We may just see the real level of the teams play this year as opposed to what we saw last year which was so below what the team had shown before last year.
I'm sure that Derozan and Valunciunas will be better this year as they grow and I'm sure that we'll see several Knicks play better as well. What i'm interested in is how the strength of both teams will compare. Late last year we saw that the Knicks could indeed play with and beat the Raptors. I don't believe that they are levels above the Knicks despite the record the Knicks had last year. I think if the Knicks are playing according to their talent they can compete with the Raptors for the Atlantic Division.
The agenda is as transparent as your love for the Knicks
There's nothing to suggest we're good or bad
I don't think we're much different than last year
I did not say every team go betterThe majority of it did including us but it's the appreciation and depreciation of how much

Sorry parity rules out IMOI thought last year we'd win 40gms, I was wrong btw
A lot of what you said applies to teams like
Detroit and Bucks
I don't see either losing 67 and 59gms respectively sorry
Can you prove they will
You have other teams who got premium talent via the draft
You have other teams getting major impact players back
Take for instance the Hawks were a 3rd seed before Horford went down
They added Thabo/Baze/Payne and have guys like Scott and Muscala taking on larger roles
Yet I've seen some fans here pick them to miss the playoffs altogether

what can the knicks rely on for the upcoming season? right now it's only 2 things - melo's scoring and jose's shooting.
DJ, I really believe the Triangle offense will help this teams offensive woes. This team will be able to execute better with the cutting to the basket, setting screens and ball movement. They also have the players that can really blossom in this offense. I am confident STAT and Barngani will play better this coming season especially STAT who needs to avg 15 and 8 daily. Phil and derek know what they're trying to bulid on.

I dont know what you agenda is. You post a ton, so its clear you were either here under a different screen name or you have come over from another site. You have a VERY anti-Knick agenda, considering this is ultimateKnicks. You constantly post negatives about the team, you spin anything Melo related into a negative and you spin Phil's moves into negatives also. Then you say things that are utterly ridiculous like
"We're different in appearance, Not different in significance of improvement"
or
"I don't think we're much different than last year"
or
you compare Felton and MeloAnd you absolutely did say every team in the east got better and the Knicks took steps backward and you predicted them to have less wins than last year.
Kinda begs the question... why join the site? Damn these Knick fans and their excitement about the changes (there *were* changes by the way) its time someone set them straight? Thanks for that!

Didn't know those rules existed
Like our direction of TEAM and incorporating the triangle system
Don't think this is our yr, that's all I'm saying
Been pretty clear 2015 is make or break for us
Wish Melo would have done more to assure a better rebuild in giving back salary
I think Phil could have taken different approaches this summer and I want him to make a defining moment move
Haven't seen it yet
This very thread I said we'll split with Raptors
Could have said 1-3 or 0-4, really I'm combating overly optimistic 50win talk
Melo can flat out say we won't win a chip instead of saying we'll be an extremely tough team to play against
Fans can't say, not sure if we've improved enough this yr
Looking forward to Clear and THJR developing chemistry this yr
I think they are the most pivotal players to our success
Why so much talk of Calderon and not enough of Dalembert and Smith
It's because it was okay to not like Felton, then why is it not okay to not like Shumpert or Smith?

It's not really about this being our year! This is simply about what this team can actually accomplish this year. There are always questions and mitigating factors. The point is that this team has been improved in a lot of key areas where it was needed. Phil taking the rains from Dolan. Fish taking over for Woody. 7 new players who are a better fit for what we're trying to do. No it's not the final product we hope to have down the line, but it's a definite improvement over last year. It's going to be a real goal to try and win this division. Only 2 teams in the Atlantic stand in the way the Raptors and to a lesser degree the Nets. So in looking at the teams I think the Knicks stack up well in comparison. There's no reason that the Knicks can't compete for if not win the Atlantic. Not based on the talent they have and the leadership they've brought in.

Fish we could have gotten LBj and Love, and he would still find away to spin that into a negative.
We lose kidd, and that was a 17 game difference, one player, yet we get 3 important role players, and we're not that much better. how can anything this person says have any credibility.

Fish we could have gotten LBj and Love, and he would still find away to spin that into a negative.
We lose kidd, and that was a 17 game difference, one player, yet we get 3 important role players, and we're not that much better. how can anything this person says have any credibility.
I think we will be a playoff team but arent quite a contender yet, 2015 will be the year if phil can win big in free Agency.

At least two of the 7 are going to start and all 7 have the potential to be rotation players. New front office, new coaching staff and half of the guys on the team are new. I think the Knicks are very different from last year.F500ONE wrote:I stopped reading after the boldfishmike wrote:nixluva wrote:Nix... read this guy's posts. You see the same things in every single post. 1) the Knicks arent good 2) every other team, literally every other team got better 3) Melo is terrible. Bad contract, out of shape, at fault for anything possible...F500ONE wrote:It's a series I see as a split, we need it to be 3-1 or 4-0We need all of the series in the Division to go this way
It will be the Raptors 2nd and 3rd yr togetherWithout a bunch of moving parts
They have that going for themDerozan and Valanciunas are rising
They recently added another stretch athletic shooter, who's young in Jordan HamiltonWe're not where they're at, maybe next year
I think it's just as easy to say that the Knicks have a lot of the very same players and that for the 1st time in a while they have good leadership and a system that will organize that talent to operate at its best.
I don't think we're much different than last year
I did not say every team go betterThe majority of it did including us but it's the appreciation and depreciation of how much
Top half didn't as much but bottom half didTherefore winning will prove to be more difficult to come by
I didn't say Melo is terrible, you're saying itMelo could have done more to help, he had highs and lows last year contributing to our results
Physically it appears he's doing things to fit the scriptHey I'm sure Felton is doing the same in Dallas but no need to oversell an offseason
I expect progression from THJR, Larkin may surpriseAcy will help us appreciate every game effort, everyone else will be what they are at this stage in their career
We're waiting for you to turn down the effusive posting
Feel more than free to start broader threads discussing the team-other players
We're different in appearance
Not different in significance of improvement
We can agree to disagree and that's okayJust like I think we won't be as good//// I stated to a fan of another team the same thing

2015 can be just as disappointing as 2010, we have to realize that Free agency isn't all what it's made out to be, as we have seen multiple teams swing for the fences and be lucky to get a base hit
